    is red nail polish trashy?

iv often worn red nail polish on my finger nails and toe nails, but someone mentioned it looked trashy to me the other day,, what do you think?

No it's not trashy depending on how your outfit accompanies the nail polish.

    Example of un-trashyness:

With red nail polish you just have to be careful about how you dress; I think if you were just wearing tank tops and mini skirts with red nail polish, it can come off trashy.

Depends on how you wear it. Black and red, for instance, go wonderful together (depending on the shade of red, of course.). Red and red, like the above poster mentioned, is trashy. Same if you put red together with certain colors.

Of course, then again, whoever said that to you might've been jealous. ;)

It depends on who you are and how you're presenting yourself. It can look amazingly classy, or extremely trashy. Or you can go with my mother's philosophy: Wear whatever color you want, but make sure your nails look good.

I rather dislike nail polish of any color.

Don't listen to them, they're just jealous that you look so awesome!

I wear sparkly red nail polish on my toe nails in summer, looks great with tanned feet and wearing jandals. I know it's not the look for everyone, but it works for me. I also wear a hot pink colour on my toe nails in summer, once a guy said that the colour was too distracting but I just laughed. I also like to get pedicures as the warmer weather starts.
I'm just not a monochromatic, conservative type of girl!

That said, I will often stick to clear coats on my finger nails or maybe a metalic beige or gold.
