I'm curious to see how many people have pets on here. Do you think your type dictates what type of pet you will have? What you will name your pets? If you will have a pet at all?

Post pics of your pets, if you have any. Tell me how they got their names and if you chose them (meaning you went to a pet store or the pound and picked them out) or if they chose you (meaning they showed up at your door, you rescued them, whatever).

The only pet I have is a betta fish. His name is Matthias. A fish is not my first choice (hell not even my 3rd choice), but I can't have a cat or a dog in my apartment, so I decided to get a fish. I picked a betta because they have much more of a personality than other fish do. I actually have grown quite fond of him. I tend to talk to him like I would a cat or a dog, which I didn't think I would.

I chose his name because I like unique names. Matthias actually came from the Bible. He was the 13th disciple. He took the place of Judas after he killed himself. I'm not religious, I just liked the name. lol

    Here he is:

    Show me your pets!!

I bought Athena from the stable I was working at, about 6 1/2 years ago. I didn't name her, she already had the name when I started working there. She was considered one of the "psycho horses". She was extremely green (or barely worked with for those non-horsey people), and had the attention span of a squirrel on crack. Seriously, she couldn't stand still for more then 2 seconds at a time. Whoever tried to train her when she was a yearling was a complete idiot because she had no respect for people and was barely broke at the age of 7. Which is ridiculous, most horses are broke around ages 3-5 depending on their breed.
Athena has a very human-like personality, and I've never really met another horse like her. I would never sell her. She's a very misunderstood horse, and a lot of people are afraid of her or don't like her. So I guess I connect with her on that level? I've never met another INTJ with a horse, so I don't know. Unless you have enough room in your backyard, owning a horse requires you to be at least a little bit social. Especially if you want to show.
The only showing I've ever done was 4-H, and I truly hated most of it. I did it for 2 years. The first year sucked ass, and the second year was kinda fun. The only reason I did it was so I could sleep in a camper a few barns down from my horse, ride her at the crack of dawn if I wanted to, and be eating cotton candy and other fair food anytime I wanted. lol I've always had to board my horses, so I wanted to experience having her in "my backyard" I guess.

Oh yea, and I've taught her to "smile". :)

I have other pets, but Athena is my baby.

Oh lord, my family has gone through so many pets. I'm fairly certain my mom is an ESFJ, and she just can't turn animals away. We've had so many strays in my house it's not even funny. We even ended up with a screech owl once.

As I got older, things calmed down a bit. I think my mom couldn't handle the stress of so many different animals in our house. We've had the same three pomeranian dogs since the summer of my freshman year in high school, which was... 2001 I believe.

This is my dog, Connor, as a puppy. I often call him Connor Bonnor.

This is him a little older, laying by the chair I'm sitting in. Even for a small dog, he's fiercely protective. :P

This is Connor with his little wifey, Sara. I affectionately call her Sara Beara. She's my sister's dog.

This is Connor playing with his brother, Gizmo. We called him Gizzy. He died recently. He was my father's dog.

I've posted pictures of Connor in another part of the forum, but here he is again, recently. He's getting old.

We used to have a pet budgie called Joey, but he died aged about 7 of a heart attack. There was also the goldfish, but they died after about six months (not due to neglect or anything).

I can't upload pics right now because there's something wrong with my computer >.<
Anyway, I have a kitty cat named Speky...I wanted to name her Spektor, but according to my mom that's not feline or feminine enough...which is true, but I'm fine with that!
She told me I could name her whatever I wanted to because she's my cat!

I love animals of all kinds, although I admit to being a crazy cat lady. When I moved out and left for college, I had to leave my two cats behind at my parents' house. After 2 months, I finally caved in and adopted a kitten because I couldn't go another day without a kitty. I named him Bowser because he has dark eyelids that make him look angry all the time. When I get a house of my own, I plan on having a TON of animals. I want to own a few acres of land so I can get a goat, pig, ducks and turkeys. Not to mention a Siberian Husky and a few more cats :D

and now for a billion pictures

The puppy is my roommate's :D

and the enormous Maine Coon here is my kitty back at my parents house. He always finds convenient places to sit.

I have 3 dogs (Cole, 13; Jezebel, 10; and Neko, 6) They are all rescued pit bulls. Two of them we kept the names they were called in the shelter because they were good names - Cole and Neko, but we did change Jezebels name cuz there was no way I was going to have a dog named Stella (remind me of A Street Car Named Desire.....STELLA!!!!)

    Cole the old man

    Jezebel my loyal girl

Neko the crazy puppy (she is 6 but still acts like a puppy)
