I like my coffee how I like my women.......
in a burlap bag, tied to the back of a mule =p

Everyday: stone ground, french press--black.
If I'm out: black Espresso or Nonfat latte

No added flavor ***ick***

Regions: Indonesia, Ethiopia

I'm not picky about the cup. But most of the time I like my coffee in a white or clear cup.

I can't drink coffee anymore, but when I used to be able to, I liked it either totally black in a plain mug, or totally fancy and frothy with creamy white chocolate or vanilla fllavoring in a mug with Van Gogh's irises on it. I love the specific painting that is on the mug because I have always related to the single white iris standing off to the side that doesn't quite fit in. I also liked coffee while camping and had a little percolator that I could use over a campfire. In that situation, I used little metal camping mugs.

Now if I drink coffee, I have very serious anxiety problems and end up having uncontrollable panic attacks. The last time I had coffee, I ended up having to go to the doctor because I thought I was dying.

I'm not terribly picky, I take regular coffee, three spoons of sugar. Sometimes I'll add some cocoa. Otherwise, that's pretty much it.

If I'm having just straight up coffee from anywhere, preferably Starbucks, then I like it with half and half or creme (whatever happens to be available) and a truckload of sugar. I don't care what kind of container it's in really but my favorite mug at home is one with a Ghirardelli's chocolate girl on it and it says "The Cup Delicious".

Starry, I am straight, but at this moment, I think I may be in love with you for starting this thread! HAHAHAH! I am a bariste by vocation, so this was interesting to me...

First off, I like mine drip brewed, FF Half&Half, and 2 teaspoons raw or demarara sugar. (I use organic demarara at home, Hawaiian raw at work...) It has to be in a gargantuan mug ( I have two identical ones at home that hold 20 ounces). If the mug doesn't have enough heft to it, I won't finish it. I don't know why, it's inexplicable, really.

Even though I am a bariste, I rarely drink Espresso. It's too acidic and it upsets my stomach if I drink it (Nephy, you are a tough one to handle 6 shots at once...that's pretty good).

AND FYI: Espresso has LESS caffeine in it than drip brew coffee. It is "expressed" under high-pressure, high-temperature conditions, however it only takes 22-30 seconds to "express" the drink from the coffee grounds. Whereas drip brewed coffee involves the "basting" of the grounds for a longer period of time (3-5 minutes) at a lower temperature, thus more caffeine and other yummy and not so yummy things gets into the cup you drink. Espresso has 30% Less caffeine per shot than a 12 oz cup of Joe.

I have to have the caffeine jolt, or it's just not worth it to me. PS> Snail has brought up a good point- if you suffer from anxiety stay away from the caffeine...it will only exacerbate the problem...choose decaf!
