ASMR - what's your experience with it?

After accidentally watching some ASMR videos on youtube, I realized they do trigger me that tingling that both relaxes me and makes me sleepy, it puts me in a sort of sensory trance that stops my overthinking or any worries I might have. And I also realized that's what I've always felt that when at the hairdresser I happened to watch people getting haircuts, or when I would watch people getting massages on the beach, when hearing certain particular percussions...
So, just curious about your experience with it, do you feel it? What are your triggers? What's your type?

I only like tapping. Anything beyond that really makes me cringe. I am not trying to condemn ASMR but I really don't understand how it works. I understand that it relaxes some people and I appreciate that it works for you, but I don't get how, as it sometimes makes me cringe and feel really uncomfortable. Does anyone else feel the same way?

    My experience so far:

I googled ASMR, watched two youtube videos (including hair brushing and whispering).
Whispering felt uncomfortable/aversive. I didn't feel relaxation or tingling sensations.

If I want to relax, I need silence or music. No random noises and no whispers about fixing me.

I'm glad it works for you but it's not my thing.

I sort of wonder if it works on Se (and Ni) types more than Si (and Ne) types.

I tried it last night. It felt weird and robotic. I gave it a solid shot as well.

I do feel most videos on youtube that are tagged as 'asmr' are creepy or cringey, and those don't give me any good sensation. But there are some that do work for me, and are usually unintentional, or not made specifically to trigger asmr. I don't like whispering videos for example. Those that do work for me are usually makeup tutorials, or videos of haircuts or hairdos, and I watch those on mute. As for sound, I only like certain percussions or tapping. @Santa Gloss I did some questionnaires here, and some users told me I use a lot of Si, so it must be a Si thing? I don't know

I've occasionally had it happen during haircuts. And I had a girlfriend who knew how to trigger it (weird finger motions I can't explain).

Most of the youtube videos I find relaxing, the same way I like to listen to whales or nature noises. But videos don't trigger it for me.

I am not sure about it being an si thing. I think I am just really sensitive to touch in general.

The only one I enjoyed was taken down for explicit content (unlike a vagina shaving tutorial, or whatever the video was called), so...
