    Spontaneous Socializing

After reading some of the estp articles, we LOVE meeting new people

So have any of you ever gone out solely just for the purpose to socialize/networking? wether its at a clothing store, the mall, grocery store ect.

BTW, you never buy anything(or maybe you do) nor really care about whats on sale

I go out on the town to socialize but I don't approach random people in malls or stores. Well if there is a reason maybe. Again this is how I think. I don't feel like people want me bothering them.

Yea, i do it all the time.

I see a woman who is attractive, i move my feet and say hi and find out what she's like

It gets easier when you do it almost all the time.

I love traveling alone, especially on business because I get to meet new people and explore new places.

So you never feel weird walking around a store for hours approaching random people?

I have no issues going out alone. I'm not alone if I am meeting new people. Especially if it's on business.

It all depends on where I'm at. If I'm at a concert, or in a class, or traveling next to someone, I have no problems talking or initiating contact with them. At the mall or at the grocery store, I don't try and do it as much. I mean if something happens that I can pop in a joke or something like that, I'll do it. But I won't go out of my way to make convo. When I'm at those types of places, I usually just get in, get my stuff, and leave

    No.

But let me tell you, at first i was so scared. I was shitting bricks. It was like trying to jump off a bridge, but even though youre bungee jumping, you still crap your pants.

But after awhile, you get used to it if you stick practicing and keep talking to people, you'll have friends in no time.

So YOU were the guy next to me on the plane last month who wouldn't let me play iPhone chess in peace.

Just curious, if you were that nervous at first, what made you want to start talking to strangers? Were you new in town (and hence had no local friends yet) or just thought it'd make a productive challenge to conquer?

I love traveling alone! It's actually quite fun. I just pick a town where I know someone and go. Business traveling is great too. It isn't as good when you haven't got time to go see stuff but I always make a few friends and make a point to go out with them at least one night.

I don't find it hard but it is situational. Some of this might actually relate to Enneagram type. Are you a 7 Swish? I am an 8 and I tend to be a loner at times no matter how extroverted I am.
