    Car sales!

Have you ever purchased a new or used vehicle? What did you like about the experience, what didnt you like? What did you think of your salesman, was there room to improve or were you satisfied?

Im an ESTP in car sales (go figure) and I'm looking to better myself as much as I can. I think it's a great career choice and I have a lot of potential. I want to see what I can do to separate myself from the competition and make myself the go to guy for buying cars.

Also, if you have any questions for me feel free to ask!

Yes, I've bought used and new. My ESTP friend is a wholesaler so many years ago I bought a really nice used Expedition from him and it was so easy. I just simply told him what I wanted and my number. He showed up in the driveway with it fully loaded and my great price. Easiest purchase ever but then again he's my best friend so he probably did it because he's awesome.

I bought a used Acura MDX on Ebay back in 2005. Did a lot of research to make sure I was where I wanted to be in price. I never buy used without checking Galves. It came from a dealership out in Michigan and at the time you couldn't get a good deal on a recent model MDX in NJ because they were in demand. So even once I shipped it, I still saved a ton of money. Worst part was the shipping company took 10 days to get it to me. My 17 year old is inheriting it.

Then I bought a new MDX a few years go. Once again did a lot of research before going in to negotiate with a trade-in car. Got my trade-in number (used Galves) and purchase price I needed but it took an hour or more to negotiate and every manager surrounding me. I wanted the car in the center of the showroom and it was end of month in October so I had confidence I'd get it for my price.
For me it's all number crunching. I am a really decisive person so I always have the model, color choice and number in mind. I'll even wait if the salesman will actively work on getting it for me and call me when he finds it.
Most grueling part was how long the freaking paperwork took. Quite honestly I'd appreciate if the salesman could cut some time out and make my life easier.

I'm really independent so I tend to sell myself and just find what I need at my price but that is mainly because in the past I've told salesmen what I need and never got a call back. Being proactive is key if someone wants me to use them consistently or recommend them to others.
