What is your take on homosexuality?

I have never been able to fully understand how someone chooses to be homosexual. To me it just doesn't seem to make sense and I'm wondering why. I tend to think it's a sort of trend that people go with to find a sense of security. I guess it's the only logical answer I can find. The idea of actually being attracted to another man is completely foreign to me and I can't comprehend it at all. So, ESTJ's, do you also have a hard time understanding homosexuality or is it just me?

****Just so it's noted: I'm not here to debate whether homosexuality is right or wrong, I'm just wondering why it seems so hard for me to understand the concept****

I am sure no one (consciously) chooses their sexual orientation, but if you are wondering how anyone could find others of the same sex attractive, the more typical response would be that it is neurological in basis.

If you are particularly concerned about how a male could possibly find another male attractive, you might as well ask a straight female why she finds males attractive.

The only "why" answer that is discernible is that sexual orientation is neurologically based, while the "what" responses (e.g. "I find 'X' or 'Y' types of people attractive") do not answer your question directly if at all.

Or are you asking why someone would choose a homosexual lifestyle? Personally, I do not see the appeal of it either, but, as you said, I do think it can provide a sense of security - a niche for some in a world of social stigma.

our sexual orientation is programmed by enviornmental accidents at points of inprint vulnrebility, but you do notice certain traits which many homosexuals share. I notice a high number of them have bad relationships with their father, or no father at all. G.Ratty Taylor, sociologist, comprised a list of partist (father) and martist (mother) traits. That is to say those who are closer to their mother have more partist traits. The fear of homosexuality is a partist trait, so the homosexual is more likely to be clser to the mother. Also note that somewhere around 40% of all males are homosexual and that our sexual imprinting is no ones choice. These people are not threats to you or society and there is really no cause for alarm.

I have a couple gay friends and I don't feel threatened or alarmed by them. I'm just curious to see if other ESTJ's feel the same confusion I do when it comes to homosexuality or if it's just a personal issue. Thank you both for your answers.

    ESTJ's? Any comments?

Well, clean it up a bit so we can get a real figure. I've heard it be rationalized as evolutionary sexual variants. Don't get the point, but whatever butters their toast.

I once made the -kind of- similar thread: Bisexual PC Members
and it didn't turn out well. They got offended by my curiosity. But that's perhaps because I'm not very good in English, so I might said something hurtful.

I do see homosexual as against the nature, kinda behavior I could never do. But I can understand why some people attracted with the same gender. As a female, other (physically beautiful) female does attract me sometimes, so I guess I could understand in some scale.

As for gay, like guy with guy, well... I think gay guys are hot, so...
