    How does alcohol affect you?

    I'm curious.

How do you handle alcohol? Is it easy for you to slow down? What does your behavior tend to be like when you drink? How is it different from your sober behavior? How do people around you seem to respond to you when you're drunk? Etcetera...

Alcohol speeds up my brain activity in the communication part of my brain. I can talk a lot faster and can even pour my heart out if I am sobered. My friends say I talk a lot but funny. No trouble at all because I know my limit. I think I am very disciplined and knowing when to stop so that I am enjoying and having a good time without feeling sick and bad with consequences the next day.

I am very disciplined with my alcohol consumption. I think that, generally, if you can't/won't do something while you're sober, you really have no business doing it drunk. So, I enjoy a glass of wine every now and then, or a happy hour cocktail with friends. I don't drink to get drunk, but as a social thing. I tend to get very chatty when I've had a bit too much, and my bluntness comes WAY out. Those things that my brain normally says "STOP" to... yeah, those come right on out. I did a controlled drinking experiment once for my local police department (they monitor how much alcohol you get, and then give you sobriety tests and a Datamaster test); I drank myself to a 0.08, would've stopped drinking when I was about a 0.04 if I where deciding, and then proceeded to tell one of the police officers how he was cute, but not cute enough to *cough, cough.* Yeah, did I mention I don't normally drink??

I'm not an ESTJ myself but I know that how my ESTJ boyfriend handles alcohol. :)

To be honest, there isn't much of a difference to him when he's drunk. He rarely drinks and when he does, he's in control of it. But sometimes when he's a little tipsy I just enjoy it. It makes him more open and talkative, which I really like. :D Other than that he's completely his charming self, just a little more entertaining. :)

My mother is an ESTJ and she never drinks. It's a religious thing, but even without that, I don't think she would. She did a few times in college because she wondered what the fuss was, but hasn't since then, because she doesn't really see the point.

All in all, I have had a few sips of beer, and once, I had two glasses of champagne. Soooo... I have no clue. But when I'm super tired, I'm more talkative, and loose my reservations, and just basically say whatever comes to my mind.

    For me its ...
    1 martini
    2 martini
    3 martini
    Floor.

Pretty much the same for my wife ... Who tests entj sometimes.

Prolonged exposure causes adaptive changes in the brain receptors and neurotransmitters, which are responsible for various effects such as addiction, tolerance, and withdrawal.
