    A question for ESFPs :)

... because there seem to be a lot of you on here.. hehe, maybe not. One of my brothers is an ESFP and resolutely hates Myers Briggs, despite fitting all its stereotypes (maybe that's why he hates it). So just wondering, ESFPs, how did you become intersted in Myers Briggs?

Are you interested in philosophy at all?

What would you say is your biggest interest?

    Thanks :)

Well for me, I'm the type of ESFP that LOVES analyzing people and their personalities. Taking the Myers-Briggs test helped me fully understand how my own personality is like and reading about other personality types makes it more interesting. And yes, I'm interested in philosphy as well. :)

My mom asked me to take the test from the book "Please Understand Me." I read the descriptions but basically had the attitude "some dude who wrote a book doesn't know anything about me." I was around 20 then.

I forgot about it for several years and then I was dinking around online and ended up taking an online test about it, then I started reading websites about it, and chatting with people who were interested in it. One of them told me I should read Please Understand Me II: Understanding's Revenge. So I actually did, and the chapter about "Artisans" was so dead on it was scary.

I don't think I'm interested in philosophy. It's too hard to spell. I had to copy/paste.

My biggest interest is hot women, but I also like sports and food.

I don't even remember how I found it....I just took the test, got ESFP, skimmed over the description and am happy to be one

This is my first post, I should go to the introductions section... but....

I took the (real) test for the first time when I was in college and thought it was silly but when the description came back - it had to be sent out to be scored - I was amazed that it described me to a T. Years later when the free online versions became available I took a bunch of them just to see if it would still fit since 15 years of life had passed and it was still exactly the same. I like 'reading' people.

I am a bit interested in philosophy but get bored easily with the theoretical. I am interested in EVERYTHING, though....

Tha book "Please Understand Me ll" was so broken down on tha different areas of behavior & it really helped me 2 begin 2 understand why I get tha type of responses from people that I do. I will say tho that I was a bit annoyed at sum of tha traits in my personality that tend 2 annoy people & esp. tha ones that confuse & even hurt those that are close 2 us seeming like we disregard or don't care; because we really do. ESFP's tend 2 b quite needy of tha comfort & security of being truly & deeply loved, cherrished, adored more than any. But want 2 never show that. My biggest desire from all this is 2 learn how 2 modify certain behaviors & learn how 2 heal & help & love myself so that I will one day not b so needy of attention that is virtuously not humanly possible. I hope that everyone in this cafe gains personal growth & some ground basis 2 begin from. We all have positive attributes so we can also learn how 2 nurture & better develop them. Have your bro. Get that book. Philosophy is an interesting topic & like most ESFP's I read people fairly easy & enjoy analyzing so 2 learn things about myself 2 gain understanding, tha chance 2 grasp what is it w me was right up my alley!

I can totally apreciate this. This is a trait that we ESFP share at different levels.
The need for love and attention we crave is from the amount of love and affection we give as well.
When I feel that connection with someone I feel good making them happy. They get alot of attention from me, but if I don't get back gratitude and appreciation I begin to check out. This is fustrating, but
I understand my need for attention.Do I have trouble dealing with it some times.... YES, but I love being a warm and loving person and don't ever want to change that. So I guess I will take the good with the bad.

I took the myer- brigg the first time trying to learn more about myself. I stumbbled on to the test accidently searching for personality test. I've been totally obsessed with it. I have made everyone in my path take it. It helps me understand them better. Understanding others makes things simpler for me. I don't make assumptions as much. Especially with the IN types. Which Im attracted to.
