    Crying?

I've been hearing/reading everywhere that ESFJs cry a lot, and a lot of posts by ESFJs have '*cries*' in them.

Here's the thing- I almost never cry. When I was growing up, I did cry a lot. Now, however, I don't. It's just not the normal reaction for me. I only cry in exceptional circumstances.

    Am I alone here?

no, I would say I have the same story. Even when it's an exceptional circumstance I find it hard nowadays... It's not like I wouldn't be feeling bad about something happening it's like I have to help the other people who are or something...

I've only seen my ESFJ sister cry a few times, mainly at events such as funerals. I wouldn't say she cries any more than the average person does.

I don't think they are actually crying in real life when writing that. It's probably like when people write LOL but in reality they aren't even smiling, never mind laughing audibly.

As an ESFJ, I do not cry very often. However, when I do "watch out" because it probably means that I am 1. extremely pissed off or 2. extremely hurt. Both of which will bring some serious heat..................

I cry once every two or three months. Usually it happens when I can't keep my bottled up emotions inside anymore. At those moments I tend to let them out in the form of tears. I also tend to cry in a stressful situations, i.e. during an exam if I'm sure I'm not passing it.

I cried a lot as a child, but I was also very distressed. Now I'll sometimes cry at emotionally-moving films/shows. I'll also cry if I'm feeling tired and sick or as an emotional stress release. I've always had to resist tearing up when I see an ambulance go by. But, overall, it's not any more than the average person.

I hardly ever cry about things in my own life,
but I do get very emotional over movies or things that I've seen with other people.

The ESFJ I know doesn't really strike me as a big crier, at least not in public. Once he started telling me about how his girlfriend broke up with him and other various things which were going wrong in his life and it was still in a very jovial, tongue-in-cheek manner.

    It made me wonder.

I cry during movies (for both sad and happy scenes) and when I'm feeling emotionally overwhelmed. It helps me relieve some of the built-up emotions. However, I hate crying in public. I will struggle against it like my life depends on it.

I will admit, I do cry quite frequently.
