    How do you react when...

This thread is for discussing how we all react to different situations. You can propose situations or reply to proposals. But if you add a proposal please number it appropriatly. I'll start.

    Situation #1
Someone close to you (in frustration of having been proven wrong) says, "I don't know why you always have to argue about everything!"

What do you think and feel when they say this?

    ===============

I sense that they only say it because they are frustrated/embarrased about being proven wrong, which makes me frustrated too. But soon I disregard it, and my mind wanders somewhere else.
Overall, I would describe my reaction as an internal burst of thought/logic/whatever fuled by frustration.

I'm told this all of the time actually! If it's a circumstance where I feel that I may be acting argumentative, I acknowledge it and try to correct my wrong, but if the other person is just being overly sensitive, I blow it off. It's not my duty to nurture their wounded ego.

    ------

    Situation #2

If you were taking an incredibly hard examination and you realized somebody was cheating off of you half-way through would you say something? If not, and your day progressed is normal, how would you react if your teacher later questioned you about the similarity between the two test?

You know honestly, no one has ever said that to me before. Someone did once say, "You're just arguing to argue!" But it wasn't confrontational and we all laughed.

I HATE it when people try to cheat off me and try to act sly about it. I'm always trying to cover up my answers with my hands or shifting my body so that the person can't see. Once I really disliked the person who was trying to cheat off me, so I bubbled in all the wrong answers and then mass erased and put in the right ones towards the end. It drives me nuts when people don't bother figure out shit on their own. If the teacher asked me about it, it depends on if I like the person or not. Either way, I would defend my position either way by backing up the reasoning for my answers.

(This is assuming that the person is actually frustrated and doesn't have another reason for saying this, because you can never assume with people) i say "well because i'm always right." if they're close to me i usually just shrug it off because i know i'm argumentive and it bothers them. and they'll get over it. maybe. maybe one day i'll decide to change and actually keep the friends i make.

First of all i would cover my test better. then i would confront the person and teacher about it after the test.

How do you take it when someone tells you something is wrong with you i.e. a specific trait like bossy?

I usually stare blankly for a few seconds until it sinks in, then I ask them why (usually after its too late).

    Situation 4:

You're in bootcamp. Your drill sergeant is much stronger than you. What would you do if you woke up and your drill sergeant was sucking your dick?

    Is he hot?

    Detail is important here.

Odly enough your description does remind me slightly of my boot camp sergeant. You must always have your rifle within arm's reach for a reason!

I get this so often. And I don't even really think I'm arguing, lol. I don't know if I'm ENTP, but I grew up learning that arguing was wrong, and I was always doing it anyway. It's great to know that it's just the way that I learn, and I'm not screwed up in the head or something.

I generally get a bit frustrated and normal reaction is: ''I'm not arguing!'' Tries to bring down tone volume and get less enthusiastic. Fails due to being interested in the subject. ''It's just ___, ___ and ___.'' (Listing facts.)

Then maybe they'll say: ''Bah, shut up already, stop arguing!''

If they refuse to engage and get mopey, then I generally back off. Get frustrated because I can't continue.

I think: "I don't know why you always have to say incorrect things!"
I feel: "If I say that then I'm just proving them right, and I hate being wrong. But what if the only way to be right is by admitting I'm wrong? Do I win? AAAARRRGGGHHH"

The result: I stare seemingly blankly into space, the other person will probably walk away.

At school I had this girl who would always copy off of me in Science, I got rather annoyed and decided to start writing in a ridiculous flamboyant style that she wouldn't be able to understand. It worked, but unfortunately, it stuck and now no one can understand it!

Depends very much on who says it! To A friend or family member I would consider it and if they were right, I'd apologise. If it was meant as an insult, I'd probably insult them back.

I don't have a dick :/ I sincerely hope that's hypothetical - otherwise, call the police my good man.
