    Do ENTP act like this?

Just found out today my best friend's sister is an ENTP. Well, considering I'm an ENTP (though this has made me question it... again) I was quite shocked with this considering I usually try to ignore her presence and find her to be an uncharismatic, boring and whiny individual. From what I can tell, we are completely opposite and I find nothing about her interesting or appealing what so ever.

So, as far as I can tell, either she's the ENTP and I'm not or I'm the ENTP and she's not. This probably shouldn't be bugging me at all, but somehow it is.

So question: Is the way she comes of typical of how most ENTP's come off as?

there could be a difference in enneagram typing. that plays a part in how relationships work or don't. besides that there are good and bad apples from any type. could be more of just bad characteristics ie the whining bit.

Pretty much this. There are a million different flavors of any type, for a million different reasons. MBTI explains why you think the way you do; Enneagram explains why you act the way you do. Maturity, things going on in your life, and so forth can all have influence, as well.

Whiny? As a type there are plenty of aspects that could be seen as unappealing to others but I can't say whiny would be one that came to mind.

    How is she whiny?

But yeah, +1 to the differences in type, especially with Enneagram factored in.

If she seems boring and uncharismatic, and she is indeed an ENTP, there's a good chance that she's just bored, and disengaged from the world around her.

I'll also have to agree with the rest of the thread: enneagram type can make a big difference in many ways.

Is she still in high school? That'd explain a lot... She could just be not matured.

How do you know she's an ENTP? Did she just take one test and that's it? Are you going by the description or looking at how she thinks? Is there a chance that you see aspects of yourself that you don't like in her, causing a conflict and for you to shrug her off? What's her age? What is her family life like? What is she interested in? What's her social life like? What-- well, you get where I'm going.

There are a million possibilities, don't let one drag you down unless you think there's some truth to it. Even then, use it to propel yourself forward. Who cares if you turn out to not be an ENTP? That just means your one step closer to finding who you really are.

I'll give you this, though. Questioning if you're an ENTP while giving her the benefit of the doubt is a very Fe thing to do. And noticing that she seems off compared to yourself, which you've previously understood to be an ENTP is also very Ti.

This is a long, but very insightful look at the different functions. It's helped me realize I'm definitely ENTP and hopefully can help you out, as well.
