Anyone? I got to say, my Si was horrifically horribly horrible before I started focusing on spelling. I made a choice in Freshmen year of high school to start spelling correctly... because I had so many story ideas. I mean, I have had so many story ideas, it is insane.

The main problem for me when writing is... while Ne gives me so many ideas to write about... Ne and Si work together to get me to sort of... move to the new idea, and rarely finish stories or books that I have started.

But oh my god, I love writing so much. I love thinking about stories, and ideas for new stories. I love creating monsters that are unique, and stories with deep meanings. Honestly, there needs to be an ENTP idea thread. In fact, maybe I will go create one now. >.> If such a monster does not exist already.

I love your avatar! They look like small flower soldiers :) Looking at me. Cool!!!

OK - the main function here is Ne and it is a simple insatiable hunger. Which has some memories to remember what was deemed unpleasant and what pleasant from past experience (Si).

Here is something that was brought to my attention by a Si-dom: "You want to do everything and never have time for it all."

Ne+Si - why would it want to see anything through? Through all the nitty-gritty details. It has no motivation on its own. It needs help.

And you can't cut off your main function :)

And you can't really "focus" it or restrain it, cause that would attempt to change its very nature and since you can't do this you never really succeed.

You can't look at an ENTJ and say "cool! I wanna be like that." That's why you read a type's description and you read: "They need to learn ... and concentrate on ..." Do you thing that really works that well. :)

    Just saying.

I love writing too. In high school I wrote almost obsessively. I have dozen of journals from high school, filled to the brim. I wish I could meet someone who appreciated it. I keep them close to my heart but I have enough distance that I would almost like to show someone.

Now, it is more lack of application for my writing than anything.

I won a writing contest once run by the local paper. Fan fiction for twilight, yes.... but still an extremely proud moment.

Quoting this because it will only let me thank it once.

There is a lot of wisdom there and I appreciate this post.

"A simple insatiable hunger." Wow. That is just amazing....thank you.

About the liking the avatar, thanks. It is my favorite photo from my photography spree.

And I'm totally trying to work on it. I don't think I'm in the right place to write my book yet, currently it is just a million ideas and thoughts that are badly organized in my head, yet I can recall them at a seconds notice, verbally.

I do look at ENTJ's and think "I want to be like that." But not about everything. One of my best friends is an ENTJ, and while I deeply respect him, he has a lot of problems that I don't want. But we help each other, I deal with feeling issues for him, he deals with telling me which ideas of mine are good and worth sticking to.

If you post your writing here I will read it. If you feel like. But a super great place to share writing is deviantART. Most writing there is largely ignored, so you don't have to worry about people judging you, and yet some people will come around and comment on it, and appreciate it, and that is always awesome.

If you want to read anything- mostly freestyle poetry- I will send you some. Honestly my biggest insecurity about sharing my work is when I show someone something and the response is" its good." Or" nice". Or something like that, I assume you know what I mean. I don't need constructive criticism, but such unspecific replies make me feel like the person didn't even read it. I am so very insecure about my writing, more so than anything. Chichi is honestly a bit odd, considering that I am perhaps better at that than anything else on this earth.

I certainly have trouble keeping with the motivation on long projects. But I love writing and cannot imagine stopping. As you mentioned, there are just too many ideas that demand exploring.

I tend to outline things now. It doesn't give me the excuse to stop because I don't know where I'm headed. That said, I have to make some room for improvisation, because planning every detail ruins the magic of the writing.

Similarly, I can't read books again once I've read them. I already know the story, so the exciting aspect of not knowing what happens is lost on me. I can read little excerpts, but never the whole thing. I wonder if anyone feels the same?

    I like to write.
In fact, I love to write if I can keep consistency.
Then afterwards, it's extremely nice to hold the sense of accomplishment (even if it's just a 2-page story, it's something I finished).

I love writing! It's always been something that just came to me naturally. My mom used to write a lot too, so I think I get it from her. I've been writing the same book for years (I've written it twenty different ways), but I have yet to finish it. I also write poems, song lyrics, and just stories.

I just have a lot of fun writing. I get this idea, and I make into something much larger and beautiful, just with a piece of paper and a pen.

Creative writing is one of my biggest passions :D. I actually have a few online novels with, all up, over 1000 readers and over 300 reviews, which makes writing even more exciting for me. My problem, like the rest of you, is trying to stick to one idea. I have 4 novels in progress, and about 10 'first chapters'. I've finished one story, but I had to write a half a chapter to a chapter a day to keep myself interested. I don't think I would have completed it if I had taken a day off.

Character development is the most exciting aspect of creative writing for me. Is that an ENTP thing? Nearly all my stories end with some kind of major change in the main character.
