The Concept of the Apology & How I Just Don't Get It!

I have a very difficult time understanding the concept of an apology. It's just hard for me to understand the point of saying "Sorry" after the fact, it's not going to fix the problem ... I'd rather fix the problem and never do it again. Also, most of the time when people want me to apologize it's over a mistake or accident I could not have forseen so why should I apologize. Any other ENTP's have trouble saying sorry or understanding when an apology is needed?

I have no problem saying sorry; I really don't care about it and normally fact it. The problem is that I can only say sorry when it is not expected. If I do something bad I cannot say it at all. Example: I accidentally hurt my brother and while I checked on him I never apologized, but I was playing around with an Ex by playfully insulting her I found it hilarious and she did too but I easily said sorry playfully when she started tickling me :P

That's how I am, but it's because I have a hard time being sincere to people with my emotions...I think it's that atleast...or something.

The concept of apologies is throwing you off? The concept?? I'm sure if you think about it long enough, you'll figure it out.

Lie. Who gives a fuck what you did.
Argue and make life hard. Lie and make life easier.
    Your choice.

Ha I get the concept, but I just think it's lame.... I felt like concept was an eyecatching word OK, jeez. Us Entp's can be pretty unbearable... Ha but do you sort of understand what I was trying to say? Or do I need to clarify?

lol. When Sellihca has to call someone else edgy, you know it's serious.

OP: I really do not like when people cannot apologize for shit who I care about. The rest of the world I have no problem not giving a shit for what they do to me.

Who can blame them. As long as they accept the consequences I incur.

But when it's people in family, and they do shit and don't apologize, it's disloyal. I don't like knives the back, I like em frontsies.

It's something that you just have to do. It makes people feel as though you care that you wronged them somehow. I don't feel at all, but when someone tells me that they are sorry, I find it respectful. I tell people I am sorry all the time, even when I'm not, because it is what is expected. It maintains peace and can rebuild bridges. I don't necessarily understand the concept either, but I accept it because it works. People who can't appologize can't see past their noses- its a pride thing and pride will forever and always hold them back. They're just words!
