So, just a little thought I had, What do my fellow ENTP's think about politics? Where do you go? Right, left, center?
My hypothesis are that you are all libertarians :). Defending the society, and out with the old, in with the new!

    Discuss it here

I, personally am borderline between moderate and far right.
Put the religious views and traditions (talked about a few paragraphs from now), I'm Israeli, first of all, and I'm going to talk about this, and about the Arab threat, from a neutral point view, and inoccently give away my thoughts.

So, as you might know, my country is in great conflict, ever since it was born. It belonged to the Othoman Empire before WWI, and changed hands to the British during. Meanwhile, unable to decide (the Zionist movement has already made a couple of Aliyot (mass migrations)). The British held a mandat, or temporary leadership, until the (what now is the UN) will decide what to do with it. Another WW came, after it a mass of immigrants. Anyhow, in 1948 the UN (not the UN, somthing similar, don't know English name) decided that Palestine will be divided, among the Arabs and Zionists, and Jerusalem will become an international border. (I'm ommiting TONS of details)

Since then, we have been at constant wars, the green line, aka the 67 borders, were the borders that Israel held until the 6th day war when we conquered the east side of Israel. (1948-1967, from the war of independence)

Since then we held the half island of Sinai, but gave it away to the egyptians in return for peace.

    Today, Israelis have a conflict:

Far left want to go back to the 47 borders (Palestine>Israel), but they're really really tiny.

Moderate left wings want to give away territories, and go back to the 67 borders (Israel still>).

Center wants to stop building in the occupied territory, and perhaps return territories.

Right Wing (currently in power), want to continue building in the occupied territories, and are more strict witht he arabs.

    Extreme Rightists don't want peace.

In addition, right sides witht hte religious and traditions.

    So, finally, more my opinion:
I definitely disagree with giving back territory, because what happened in Gaza was obvious: they are not satisfied. No one disagrees with that. I personally think that they are a real minority in the palestine community, although they control everything there, and they brainwash the children. If a child from Gaza will hold a gun, and be left alone with you, (probably America or its allies), he'll probably shoot you between the eyes. Anyhow, I don't blame them. They're in horrible conditions, the most densely packed place in the world, and the few extremists that live rule their lives brainwash them everyday. In addition, we don't do much to help, although most people you see on the news are crazy too. Anyhow, I think nearly all of them would like peace. The ones that don't however, the jiad, are crazy and insane, and whatever territory we give them, they'll always hate us and be in conflict with us. If Israel gives them territories, they'll get stronger, and I don't think any of you want Nasrala ruling a country.

About traditions, I don't uphold them for normal reasons. I don't believe in the bible or in God, but I think that a people need a culture to survive, and to flourish. A people with no culture will dissolve into other countries. In addition, I have a love for my country (that I gained abroad, when I saw how much Israel is different than other places. I'm not brainwashed like you might think), and I think that that's how it comes to terms.

Oh, and I'm not one of the "burnthe ALL!!!!" rationalists.

I'd say I'm more right wing but only a bit and scotland in generally is more centre left - being a mainly industrial country who are slowly redeveloping into the centre of innovation it used to be for many fields - so I suppose i'm really just centre.

But liberal yes quite but in the European sense rather than the US sense (appartently theirs differences).

As the son of a business owner I get annoyed by the working classes perception of businessmen especially in glasgow. A lot of people see them as thieves at worst and annoying at best when I know for a fact my dads company (who make forensic software) have created 7 jobs (including his) and have helped lower financial fraud and improve police efficiency in the last 6/7 however many its been years. And have gone into overall proft for the first time (a big achievement for an IT company due to the high set up costs) during a reccession.
So It annoys me that businesses get taxed so much and how those who get paid lots have to pay a high % of tax. ie that tax is exponential to an extent when the work he puts in is directly proportionate to what he gets paid!

I suppose by US standards though I'm normal or a tad left. I mean I find some US things shocking like your health policy. For a developed country your attitude to health shocks me.

I'm in favour of small business and business growth as a top priority in politics. And I think good countries encourage a lot of small businesses rather than few gigantic ones.

Left and right is different in every country. Ask about ideologies instead.

I'll just say this for now: I'm no libertarian.

Right and left are universal ideaologies, it's just that in every country it is implemented differently

I dont quite understand the political spectrum (probably cos ive never studied politics). i dont understand why you have to group ur ideals and put them on some sort of diagram. i dont really understand where political ideals even fit into government. why do we have to be controlled, lead, guided by a whole set of people who all believe the same thing? that doesnt give much space for true innovation. doesnt really seem very democratic to me, how can everybody be represented when we only have one set of ideals making the desicions? surely a cross section would be much more appropriate. and surely any member of government is there to represent the concerns and needs of their local communities regardless of their own political slant. an impartial representative would offer a much better service in my opinion. so i am politically impartial (but i probably agree with more leftist solutions to problems in society than rightist ones, not to say the rightists have got it totally wrong).

The best solution takes into account many opinions and perspectives.

there is no such thing as moderate libertarianism. libertarianism is an absolute ideology.

Actually, true libertarianism (I don't identify with the formal political party) is a combination of "right" and "left" -- fiscally conservative and socially liberal, to be exact. Neither conservatism nor liberalism (in the sense of the U.S. political parties, at least) is entirely for big government or small government, despite what popular culture leads people to believe. Everything is relative to the two variables: social and economic.

It is definitely possible to be close to the middle while still being libertarian.

    Behold!

I'm in the purple quadrant, which is the area of true libertarianism in general, but I'm pretty close-ish to the center. (U.S. liberalism is the green quadrant, and U.S. conservatism is the blue quadrant.)
very bored and Mr.Katzenjammer thanked this post.

Barack Obama: world leaders 'see me as a conservative'

In America, President Obama is from the left, but world leaders say he would be on the right in their countries.

The political compass test might be a better test than self reporting.

The link goes to where you can take the test agokcen is referring to. I know I'm not an ENTP, but I'm in the green, and I think most other people here will be too.
