I think that conspiracy theory can be broken down to a few basic issues. And I think that these issues are progressiveness versus traditionalism, and religion. Progressives pushing technology blindly on one extreme, and Traditionalists pulling toward outdated values on the other. Some people are strictly on either side of the fence, some are on the fence. The religious are trying to interpret it all. But, either way you see it, I say do not assume that there is a correct side. I wouldn't assume that there is a prophecy or that there is a plan to life, and by that I mean that I would not assume that a divine being intended for humans to have tracking devices or not. Or iPhones, and GPS and Facebook for that matter.

Even if there is a god who had a conception about what is right and wrong, we are not able to interpret that god's intent. We might as well look into the stars and judge whether or not each one is correct or not, as if it is possible to determine. To even cite a religious text as prophecy is to presuppose that there is destiny. And you should hope that your book is the right one, because if it isn't the right book, you would have to decide whether or not to believe the divine interventions or to stick with your book. I believe that if there was a plan, it was to have no plan.

Why is anyone so scared that the government will become a surveillance machine? In order to actually follow an entire society, a large part of that society would eventually be watching their neighbors. And those would have to be the same neighbors who work for the same government agency as the surveillance. Because it takes a lot of people to really analyze someone's pattern of life through surveillance. So, then you are back to the choice. To progress or to be traditional. No one is forced to live in the most advanced part of the world, such as cities. The most important choice is to conscientiously make a choice, instead of fighting choices, like the outcast conspiracy theorist who hates "Big Brother," while living in a metropolis.

Do I think conspiracies exist? Absolutely. Am I probably a little more narcissistic than most? Absolutely. Do I think that anyone really gives a shit where I am 24/7? Not a damn bit. So, no, I don't think that the government is secretly planning a tracking tool and disguising it as a credit card chip. Even I'M not THAT narcissistic. And I'm an ENTP all the way!

The government already has the ability to track us anyways. The social security number, the IRS, your driver's license etc., are plenty to follow your entire pattern of life. The real issue is the laws and rules that govern how the government can use that information to follow the citizens. As long as citizens care enough to actively protect their rights, no technological advances should change the way the government agencies can collect information about citizens. The problem is that it only takes a swift act of congress to change those rules, as in the Patriot Act. So, its security versus freedom.

To sum up what basically everyone has said, we ENTPs are extremely cynical. This means we're not just cynical of, say, the government and "the man;" we're also cynical of silly conspiracy theories. You might say that we have extremely powerful B.S.-o-meters. Add that to the fact that many of us are largely nonreligious, and it becomes clear that this sort of thing doesn't bother us. When it becomes a serious concern, we'll let you know. For now, however, I'm sure we have better things from which to "defend society."

To me, this just highlights the irrationality of religion. The Abrahamic God is the same in Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. But, once their values are offended by mere semantics, the zealots go crazy. I can say that I have discussed this with Muslims in a few Muslim countries and some of them will agree that they are the same God. What they really can't agree on is what happened after creation, especially when it comes to the prophets.
