Dealing with stress as an ENTJ

I believe that I cope well under stress; if I'm trying to sort things out in a stressful environment or do work, I can get my head down, push my emotions away and do the job and relax later. But when things are out of your control and you're in a stressful situation, how do ENTJ's cope with stress? Do you turn to consumption (tobacco, caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, whatever), sleep, ignoring it, etc?

I internalize it and turn it into a tumor.

But, in all seriousness, I have tons of stress and carry it with me everywhere. I have had multiple doctors tell me that I'm the most stressed person they've ever had as a patient and have no idea how I function.

Never had a consumption based way of trying to get rid of it. I laugh a lot, especially at absurdity and realize that nothing exactly matters - at least in not a meaningful way for me, so that helps a bit, I suspect.

    That's probably why we're stressed.

I will give you a big INFP hug. That will take some of the stress away.

    :)

Actually, I don't mind being stressed too much -- if I'm relaxed all the time it feels unnatural, but being stressed for a long period of time really does start being annoying.

So much to do, so little time to do it and nearly everyone is in the way.

Tell someone else to do the work for a day and go outside and do something fun. Just do it. The work will not suffer without you for one day.

The way I see it, there are 2 types of stress. The first type is actionable, meaning that one can reduce the stress by dealing with its source. I feel that ENTJ's are quite good at dealing with this type of stress. The second type of stress comes from things that are out of our control, either temporarily or permanently. As I've gotten older, I've become better at "ignoring it", aka: compartmentalization. I've learned that finding distractions (exercising, dating, gaming, forums, etc.) tend to greatly help this effort.

Hugs from INFP's help as well.

They won't do it correctly and to the exacting specifications forcing us to have to redo it... so let's just cut out the middle man for efficiency.
