Do you like to start senseless conversations for the sake of talking with someone??

This seems to be the case for me. When I wait for my classes to start, I tend to want to get a conversation going and when I can't think of anything to say, I ask questions I already know the answers to such as "Did you do the homework?" or "Did you study." and things like that.. I really can't stand just sitting quietly. I really like to know people and this is probably why I decided that my "E" outweighs my "I". Can anyone relate to this?

I don't like to do it, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

I rarely initiate conversation. However, if someone begins speaking to me, I'm usually more than happy to talk.

I don't initiate conversations. I wait to be approached. I don't like talking if I have nothing interesting to say. I would rather use the silence to formulate ideas or daydream than waste my time making meaningless sounds at someone.

Many words are spoken when there's nothing to say.

I don't like talking when I have nothing to say ... but I always have something to say. I've been known to do both (Start Conversations and Wait it out) It really depends on the person or the subject.

It's almost impossible for me to do so, but I can easily extrovert around friends or family though.

The more I've practiced it, the better I've gotten at it. But, the more I think about, the more I just feel that I don't have too terribly much to say to people. Whenever I have to speak at all, it's usually a struggle, and an unpleasant one at that, not like struggling that makes you grow. I prefer the quiet of my own thoughts. (Am I not just appallingly boring!)

Today for instance, I had lunch with my dad. I feel like a bad son (seriously, I really do), but half the time when I'm with him, I am just grasping at straws to speak with him. I can never think of anything to say; we have absolutely nothing in common. Except for our genes and whatnot. The occasional mannerism.

    No, I don't... usually. I'm an "I."

    Only when I feel humorous.

    What type is your dad?

I don't start conversations, even if it starts feeling awkward. If the other person has something to say, I'll listen, and if the other person says something interesting, I'll speak. Otherwise, nada.
