    ENFPs and Ti

    The more I researched into cognitive functions; the more I became inclined to seek out tests and self-reflective function identifying. That being done, I've worked out over the years, I can see a shift in my usage of Ti. Are there any other ENFPs out there with well developed Ti? Have you found it to be an advantage or disadvantage? Why? I for one can see now why I get so easily mistaken for ENTP...

    I remember reading this in a book on typology, im not sure which one but if i remember ill post it. It basically said that due to things like socialtal pressures its not uncommon for male feelers to devlop thinking characteristics. the same goes for female thinkers

    Yeah, I'm the same way. I have some very well-developed Ti, methinks. If I'm motivated enough, I can sit back and be very objective and rational with almost anything.

    I use my Ti when I'm angry. Stepping away from the situation and viewing it objectively, is one example. Other times, it depends on the subject I'm talkimg about or the person I'm talking to- because it'll just show up at wierd times.

    Are you sure it's Ti you're using? as an ENFP,Ti would be one of the much lower functions..so im inclined to think that it may be perhaps another function.

    Also,beware the tests my friend.They aren't at all sturdy enough to support you in your quest.

    While this is certainly a valid contention, I flop between ENFP and ENTP between almost any MBTI-based test I take, and I do feel that, in some regards, that sort of evaluation from the tests is accurate to an extent.

    As @WMDistraction said above; I too seem to straddle the ENFP - ENTP world; more so than before. When I was younger ENFP was an excellent fit; but now ENFP remains a good fit, but I can see the ENTP in me as it were. Not only this, but Ti wielding problem solving is something I have been forced to develop. That's why I feel it accurate to think my functions may have shifted towards Ne>Fi>Ti... Unless it is a function masquerading as Ti, in which case I'm open to alternative suggestions?

    Me too. My SO tells me his INTJ functions rub off on me when i get angry :D Showing up at odd times would basically explain it. Ti seems very clear to me when communication with my SO. There seems to be a mystery between ENFP/ENTP. Many of us claim to feel like both at times.

    This example sounds much more like Te than Ti, since you are detaching and viewing it objectively, rather than through a personally oriented Thought scheme, which is Ti.

    Here is a pretty straightforward explanation. Most ENFPs are more likely leading with Te than Ti. That cognitive functions test in notoriously confusing and misleading.

    Are you sure you are not mistaking Te for Ti?

    I am confused.

    I also believe I've developed my Fi lately, but it definitely can't match my Fe.

    @Blocklos

    Thanks.

    I don't think many people realize that when a Ti users says "don't insult my intelligence"/"this is not logical" it is the same as a Fi user saying "You hurt my feelings"/"You are insensitive". It might actually be the very same emotion (occurring in the same centers in the brain). Unfortunately my attempts to find decent neurological research on MBTI seem futile :(

    Hope more people read that article.
