Well, I met my very first confirmed ENFP yesterday

I'm quite sure I've probably encountered them before, but not one I knew for sure was an ENFP. She was absolutely lovely

My mom, in her dubious wisdom, decided that I needed a life coach to get my life in order. LOL. I didn't mind too much, so I just went with it. Hey, she wants to pay for it, I don't care... Now that I think of it, life coach is exactly the kind of role ENFPs would probably be attracted to.

I wasn't really sure how it would go, but she was an absolute pleasure to deal with. We discussed MBTI at length, as well as family, career, college, etc. In the end we decided that I didn't really need much guidance as I was fairly on track, but I just wanted to say that I had the most wonderful time talking to her. It was a relief to speak to someone so friendly and personable, who understood me so well. It's nice, and different.

I have to say, it gave me a really good impression of ENFPs in general. I'm not stupid enough to generalise completely and assume ALL ENFPs everywhere are exactly like her, but it was a lovely introduction to the profile in general.

You live up to the "Inspirer" title

I've thought that enfps would make great life coaches before. I thought I'd be really good at that job, myself. I'm pretty sure that Tony Robinson is an enfp. I heard him on Ted Talks and I just thought: "What an enfp!"
    hahahaha
I noticed that if you post something in the enfp side of the forum about needing a boost of inspiration, you'll get it. Within the hour you'll have at least three enfps swoop down to cheer you up and show you a motivating perspective. Loves it!!!

ENFPs definitely have a way of finding the good in people and trying to help them become the best they can be.

I wish I had an enfp friend in real life.

I've thought about becoming a "life coach" before, but then I think about how much of a failure I would feel if I couldn't succeed in helping a client to get back on track. I'd take it way too personally. D:

My coworkers always say they want me to be their life coach...and that I'm wise...I feel like a, well not hypocrite exactly, because I do believe all those things I say, but talk is cheap. I talk a lot.

Definitely! I've considered it myself...that or a counseling. But then I realized that I get enough of that in real life without the title. :)

That's where "boundaries" come into play. We have to be mindful of who has to make the fundamental changes. That responsibility is not ours, but belongs to the person who comes to us. *hugs*

You're absolutely right. :) *hugs* I just believe so much in people's potential, and I feel like a failure when I'm not able to make them see their potential too. :( I think one of the benefits of being a life coach is that the people who come to you want to make SOME kind of change, so I guess they would be more open and more willing to work with you (as opposed to you just trying to motivate them by yourself). :) :)
