    Your partner's MBTI type

This was inspired by a thread I saw over in the INTJ forum that I thought was an interesting idea.

Vote for your partner's type if you are an ENFP, or your own type if you are in a relationship with an ENFP. (Please don't vote otherwise!)

    1. What type is your partner? What is your relationship (dating, engaged, married?) and how long have you been together?
    2. Do you have a good relationship? How do you think your partner's type affects your relationship dynamic?
    3. Any thoughts on how this relationship compares to other types you have been with?

    1. What type is your partner? What is your relationship (dating, engaged, married?) and how long have you been together?
My partner is an ENTP. We're extremely seriously dating (moving in together in just over a month, when our current leases are up). We've been together for a year and a half.

    2. Do you have a good relationship? How do you think your partner's type affects your relationship dynamic?
We have an amazing relationship. His type definitely affects our dynamic, but we're really good for each other. That Ne+Ne energy is unlike anything else I've ever imagined in my life. It's powerful.

His Fe is very developed for an ENTP, and my Te is very developed for an ENFP, because we're in our midtwenties, so it's more about differences between the Fi/Te combination and the Fe/Ti combination.

We can giggle for hours about nonsense, while we challenge each other intellectually. I'll go on and on about psychology and philosophy, and he'll talk off my ear about quantum mechanics and chemistry. It's a great balance.

We both can relate to anyone on that particular person's "level", so we have a wide circle of friends/acquaintances. He won "best personality" of his high school, back in the day, which is not difficult to imagine. He's honestly the funniest, genuinely kind person I've ever met... though quite the smartass.

However, despite both being extroverts, we like a great deal of alone time to think, away from socialization and people. We're both very much ambiverts, as the two most introverted E types. We like to sneak away for days at a time. We truly live in our own little world.

    3. Any thoughts on how this relationship compares to other types you have been with?
There's a healthy, balanced give and take. Neither of us wants to be whipped or have the other person whipped. I've dated people on both sides on those (EXTJ, ISTP, INFP: you can easily guess who was on which side, in terms of power). My ENTP and I are a team; we're equals.

There's also a great deal of openness. We can really share ideas, values, and thoughts. We can truly, 100% be ourselves with one another. It's fantastic.

And he loves me to the core of my being, regardless of my "shell" (physical form), my mood, my experiences, and all of my many, many shortcomings. He truly accepts me, and he thinks that I'm amazing for the person I am, making that no secret. It's 100% mutual, of course, and it's the greatest feeling in the world. It truly is.

EDIT: Writing this made me happy, so, now, I'm going to share a picture:

    1) Either INFP or ISFP probably (he's on here as INFP so I put that). We're dating and been on and off for years (this is the fourth time). This time we've been together maybe a month?
    2) It's fine! We get on well and understand eachother pretty well. I'm a bit too laid back about relationships though and have no idea what I want so I think that frustrates him. He also has a habit of being pretentious, but I'm not sure if that's to do with type XD
    3) It not as FUN as the ExFP I was with, not as intellectual as when with the ESTJ, not as silly as with the ENFP, but far better than with the ESFJ I was with. It's a middle level rating I think :) Stable and fairly chilled.

    1. What type is your partner? What is your relationship (dating, engaged, married?) and how long have you been together?

She's an INFJ and we're on our 3rd year of being together :)

    2. Do you have a good relationship? How do you think your partner's type affects your relationship dynamic?

We get on perfectly fine, we've yet to have argument or fall out, We have our debating moments but it always ends in a play fight and rolling around the floor and stuff lol. We learn a lot from each other and we help each other as much as we can, we understand one another pretty well.
We also end up doing a lot of stuff like this...

    3. Any thoughts on how this relationship compares to other types you have been with?
Most serious and best relationship I've been in and I hope it doesn't end, The only other serious one I was in before was bad, No idea what her type was but I had been manipulated and lied to for whole 2 years. Meh.

    1. She's an INTJ. We've been together for 4 years. However, we have broken up and got back together a few times.

    2. Absolutely glorious (as of now). She is the cutest and most beautiful person I have ever seen. She listens to me talking about ANYTHING for hours, and with her I know that she's listening to every word I say, it's amazing and I love that. I also love it when she talks to me about her nerdy things, which I deeply adore and she knows that even though she rarely talks to me about them. Still, I don't mind much because when she does, she gives it all. Even though people say she's cold and distant, I never really got that from her. She values her relationship with me more than anything, and constantly wants to improve it. She's very serious about us, and so am I, more than in the past, when I thought that we weren't going to make it together and I was very skeptical about her, but now it's beyond amazing, I feel free from worry and I know I can sleep at ease at night and she'll be there the next day.

The best thing she ever told me was that I make her feel alive. I hugged the hell out of her after she said that.

    3. I only had 2 relationships in my life yet and I consider the current to be perfect. The other one was an ISFP and it didn't end well at all. She looked like she didn't want me around. I didn't like it. Fortunately, it was short.

    1. What type is your partner? What is your relationship (dating, engaged, married?) and how long have you been together?

My boyfriend is an INFJ, and we have officially been together for about four months. But our relationship is a bit more serious than that short period of time would seem to imply.

    2. Do you have a good relationship? How do you think your partner's type affects your relationship dynamic?

It's the most fulfilling relationship I've ever been in, and I think it's certainly affected by our types. Ni dom + Ne dom interaction is a beautiful thing. We are extremely similar, but we also complete each other in many ways. It's odd, because I feel it should be impossible to be so alike and yet so vastly different simultaneously. We usually share the same thoughts and ideas, but we arrive at them in totally different ways, which is awesome to observe. There is also this unspoken, almost eerie mental connection shared between us, like all our thoughts are on the same wavelength, and we can understand each other without speaking. When we first started talking, it was like I had known him for years, and I couldn't understand why.

    3. Any thoughts on how this relationship compares to other types you have been with?

I've been with an ISTP seriously, and casually dated some other types (ESFP and INTJ most recently). I definitely prefer the INFJ dynamic, but I always have-- that's why my best friend is an INFJ too. ISTP is a great type for ENFPs in some ways, but I prefer the open emotional communication that an INFJ can more readily provide.

    1. What type is your partner? What is your relationship (dating, engaged, married?) and how long have you been together?
He is an entp, we are in a relationship (dating sounds way too casual) and ..only 3 months.

    2. Do you have a good relationship? How do you think your partner's type affects your relationship dynamic?
We have a great relationship. I don't know what it has to do with being an entp, but he's much more laid back than me. He balances out my spastic tendencies. We really are very similar and compatible. But I don't like basing compatibility on mbti types. Although he does say I bring out things in him no one else has, like...emotions. :P

    3. Any thoughts on how this relationship compares to other types you have been with?
I only know a few types of my ex's, but I can't even compare. He's the best for me.

Shameless bump on this because I'd like to get more poll responses.

Also because I think it's nice for people to be reminded that not all ENFPs date INFJs and INTJs.

I am not in a relationship, however I find that I'm best suited with another ENFP.
