So, I was wondering if anyone has a 'mantra' for life or a quotation they have in their minds when they are making decisions.

I like things by Thoreau, particularly...
“I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, To put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die Discover that I had not lived.”

though I have a quotations book and I do collect pithy things which I like to keep in mind.

"Fall seven times, stand up eight. "

It's a Japanese proverb. I feel it the most right now finding out that I have RA. I talk about it a lot because it really has drastically affected my life. There are some mornings, when I feel like I'm 80 years old and I'm having trouble putting my clothes on and walking to the bathroom that I just want to crawl back in bed and sleep the rest of the day. I have to remember that no matter how many times I may fall, I just have to keep standing up. I gotta remember that that's the only way to keep going.

It helps to have good friends and a lovely support system, though. They can really help you take that 8th step

I noticed something in my life that spurred this new motto.

Appreciate the beauty in your life. The little things make a big difference.

My motto, mission statement, has always been "How can I make a difference in the world?" or "Does what I am doing or going to do make a difference in the world?"

Works for my peace of mind.

The "creative insanity" is something like "No one will like this, but I am doing it anyway", the ultimate reason to not to think practically.
I read this a few days ago just surfing the net, pure gold for me.
