There have been similar threads on other forums regarding fashion. I was wondering how ENFPs choose the clothes they wear? What do they say about you? Do you use clothing as a means to express yourself? Does your dress shift depending on different social circles you entertain?

My average daily wear does actually speak about who I am. I want my outsides to reflect my insides. However, I am always cognizant of my surroundings and different social "vibes".

My overall vibe, despite any specific group is "sexy yet classy".

For the most part, going out right now while it's cold I might have a "cuddly" sweater balanced with a mini skirt:

In mild weather if you were to see me pick up a few things at the store, you might find me like this. Heels are important to me as I am not that tall.

On a daily basis I try to stay "casual" and I love my Abercrombie jeans:

If I were to meet your mom I'd be:
Still Abercrombie. Don't hate.

Last but not least. If you were to take me to Opera or theater performance I might resemble:

I believe our outsides reflect our insides. I also believe that "we dress the part" before we become it. I choose a role in society that I want to play. It is up to me to convince the society that I am worthy of that role. How do you feel?

'Classy'.

I usually wear something that slims the waist, like vests. I'm a big fan of dressing a little bit above casual lately. I wear plain black skinny jeans because I'm too short to wear any other jeans that drag at the ends. Most of my stuff is black and white. I guess you could call it the classy rocker look.

At school I generally wear a white tank top, with jeans, and a zip-up sweatshirt. no need to dress up for school.

Shoes, I have like two pairs. One pair of converse that I hate but have to wear until the end of the year. They have two shoelaces in each shoe, a white one and a purple one. The other pair of shoes I have are heels, very tall, hard to walk in, and I don't wear them if I don't have to. But they are really cute.

I was wondering how ENFPs choose the clothes they wear? I choose clothes that's comfortable.
What do they say about you? I guess my clothing said I'm laid back or don't care about my appearance.
Do you use clothing as a means to express yourself? Yes I do use my clothes to express myself. Right now I'm in a bohemian phase, so when I feel like expressing bohemian feeling, I'm put on my fringe boots and prairie tops.

Does your dress shift depending on different social circles you entertain? I have to say no because I don't like to dress like members in my social circles. I purposely put on clothes that's different to what my social circle is wearing. For example, if my social circle is dressing down, I'll dress up.

I'm bordering the "hipster" style I guess. I like wearing things that remind me of fall or winter. I shop at H&M and Forever 21, and I need to get out to Urban Outfitters but that's like 45 minutes from here and my parents are always busy blah blah blah. anyway, yeah it definitely changes depending on who I'm around. if I'm around the group of friends that I'm actually trying to get away from atm, I don't put as much effort into what I wear and generally just wear a pair of jeans and a normal shirt with some uggs. if I'm around my theatre friends or going out somewhere where there will be new people/potential friends or boyfriends, I try to dress well. I like interesting pieces, things that people will generally either love or hate.

You have theater friends? Yay! Are you into theater as well? That might also be why also change and "play a part" in life.

Totally understand "interesting pieces". I always needed to make a "statement" in high school and I often made my own clothes. NO ONE gets to see those pictures. Lol.

I love my baggy t-shirts and jeans. My dad always moans about me wearing my baggy t-shirts, which just makes me wear them even more. I hate dressing up. I prefer sneakers to heels. I like the 'cargo pants' style. I prefer longish socks to ankle socks. I prefer to have sleeves (like the way a guy's t-shirt sleeves are made) on my t-shirts than the sleeves (short sleeves) that the girls of today are seen in.

Hahaha! How ENFP!

Wow is nobody posting pix? Don't make me the only freak. Plus, I might want to steal your style. You know, update the ol' lady

This reminds me of a guy I once dated many moons ago. He once told me that his parents told him that you could judge people by their shoes. That coupled with the fact that I have heard casting directors say "Ew, those shoes. No part for her " after a person walked out from an audition has always brought that reality home.

Honestly, I know that a person is more than their clothes. I know I am more than my clothes. But I don't want to be confused for something I am not either.

I also have to look a certain way in order to teach fitness. It is in my contract. There is an image I need to project in order to continue to bring people in. I don't think I would attract many people to my aerobics classes if I looked too schleppy or if I wore headbands and unitards from the 80's.

I am constantly switching between looking good and feeling comfortable. For me, the ideal is a bit of both. I want to look cute but beautiful. I look a lot younger than I am and it annoys me, and I am kind of pale, so I can't wear a very large variety of eye shadows, but I suit any hair colour (except black, completely washed me out!). I also struggle with wanting to shave all my hair off to show my support for cancer (I don't actually know anyone with cancer...), growing it long like Rupunzel or keeping it just above my shoulders so I can change it often. At the moment I'm trying to grow it long, but it will probably be another two years before it will be at the right length. I'm thinking I should get extentions because then it won't take so long, and I'll be able to experiment more. I'm also debating whether I should dye my hair blonde for a while or get light brown highlights. I guess the choice is between looking sexy and cute or sophisicated. I really can't decide!

I like wearing boots and jewellary, and I hate wearing shoes. I wear flip flops alot because I like my feet to "breathe". If I can't wiggle my toes freely, I'm not a happy girl. It makes me feel all locked up and confined.

Thank you for posting these pix Chicydoda! You are too cute! It is so fun to ENPS in all their ENFPness. There is something just so colorful about us. I think your clothes really show that too.

Thanks! I don't actually like most of my clothes, but I can't afford to get better ones. I think I would also dress better if I had a better figure but I'm having trouble losing weight. Wonder if that has anything to do with my personality type? I have bipolar AS well as being an ENFP. I think it stresses my friends out a bit lol.

Well you make what you do have work for you. I feel bad because sometimes I am not be able to afford all the clothes I would really like to buy for my daughter. But I notice she gets so dang creative with what she does have. She is also testing right now as an ENFP, btw.

Don't worry too much about the weight. Know that a person who weighs 50 lbs more than you would love to be your size! And all bodies go through changes and shapes. I am sure if you are dissatisfied with your body it will change to your liking. You have a beautiful sparkle in your smile. You have wonderful skin, and great hair. Just relax about it. I really believe that once we are happy inside our outsides start to reflect that.

I know I said I'm not into clothes...

First, I am not into clothes. Having said that however, I like clothes that fit, are athletic or casual, but I also like to dress up now and then. I hate to wear anything constricting! I wear tanks and knit work-out capris in the summer because I bike and am very active. I wear flowers in my hair during the summer too. I like whimsy! On some days I put on a dress to go shopping so I can celebrate my fantastic girliness!

Half my shirts are red and I feel happiest wearing that color. I have a couple with wierd geometric desins that look tie dyed, but I prefer solids. After working for a hosiery company years ago, I wear stockings, both with seams up the back and plain, but dress to that extent only rarely. I love the feel of stockings. It's like having a juicy secret and it feels great! And aren't ENFPs happy with a few juicy secrets! Can't wear heels above two inches though due to foot pain.

In winter I have a black wool coat with silver trappings. I love it because it's so different from any other coats I've had. People ask me about it too. It could be goth or military and I'm into neither. Recently after putting on a little 'winter weight', I switched to a couple pairs of sweats and I hate the way they look, but I feel so much more comfy! Normally I love jeans.

The pics are from the last two years. They're huge. Sorry.

Fall '09: Red is my thing! Just about everything I own is simple.

May '08: I like shirts that are fun but basic. I like choker necklaces or natural jewelry. This one says Dream.

Mar '08: I don't shop often for clothes so if I find something I like I usually buy it in three different colors. I did that with this sweater. (That's my sister on the right!)

Lilsnowy. Thank you so much for posting pix. You are so pretty and fuzzy and warm! Just like I knew you would be!

Omg! I have that same white shirt, or almost. I don't have a pic of me in it though. And chokers? Hello...that is so totally my thing! I have one very similar to yours but I can't find it right now. But here's one with me with a choker:

And I never mentioned it but I like to wear red too. Some seasons are better for me to wear it than others. I noticed we both are brunettes with hazel/green eyes? Maybe that is the reason we have similar tastes? Oh well. Here is my "athletic" side.

On the way to teach aerobics, I often think I'm a "rock star" in the car. I have to. I have to "pump" myself up in order to inspire...
I often wear pig tails/braids:

pinkrasputin, thank you so much. I enjoy your posts --and your fashion sense-- bigtime! YOu've got a lot of style, way more than me, I think. We're like ENFP sisters! :')

I should add, I wear braids too! I call them my 'happy hair' and I don't care how old I get, I'll probably wear them at times to feel happy and carefree! And the messier the better!!

When it comes to fashion, my style tends to change. Sometimes I want to walk out of the house in my favorite neon orange knee-high socks, and sometimes I want to look put-together and demure. It all depends on the day. My latest fashion addiction is cardigans.

Just the fact that you're surrounded by boys would give it away that you're an ENFP. Very cute pictures! Plus the unique style! Very cool!
