There have been similar threads on other forums regarding fashion. I was wondering how ENFPs choose the clothes they wear? What do they say about you? Do you use clothing as a means to express yourself? Does your dress shift depending on different social circles you entertain?

My average daily wear does actually speak about who I am. I want my outsides to reflect my insides. However, I am always cognizant of my surroundings and different social "vibes".

My overall vibe, despite any specific group is "sexy yet classy".

For the most part, going out right now while it's cold I might have a "cuddly" sweater balanced with a mini skirt:

In mild weather if you were to see me pick up a few things at the store, you might find me like this. Heels are important to me as I am not that tall.

On a daily basis I try to stay "casual" and I love my Abercrombie jeans:

If I were to meet your mom I'd be:
Still Abercrombie. Don't hate.

Last but not least. If you were to take me to Opera or theater performance I might resemble:

I believe our outsides reflect our insides. I also believe that "we dress the part" before we become it. I choose a role in society that I want to play. It is up to me to convince the society that I am worthy of that role. How do you feel?

I like to dress as though I have a lot more money and class then I actually do. I also like to show that I'm shamelessly eccentric because I think it will attract the right kind of people. As in, mad people. People like me
Clothes mean a lot to me. What I wear directly correlates to my self esteem. If I feel like shit, I go out in skinny jeans and a man jumper. If I feel great, I go out as a little lady, parasol hat and all.

The sad thing is, I do actually have this exact lace parasol, but in black. I love ruffles, bows, high necklines, lace, tartan... pearls... and I like to mix that with my hair, which is like the hair in the picture except it's completely black.

When I got a chance, I'll post them. Share more of your sets-DanseMacabre , as well as- thisisme . I would love to see more from both of you.

Oh this is cool. I didn't read the whole post (10 pages!) but I think about this a bunch.

I actually have had this conversation with a bunch of other people. For guys I think fashion is so limiting there are so many less options for men's clothes than for women. Basically we have t-shirts, polos, dress shirts, and then outer ware. The thing is if you live where it is hot than that seriously limits your clothing options.

In general I am hyper aware of my appearance and I think that it conveys a ton of information about a person. A lot of times what I try to do is convey less information through my clothes. I like to look very nice and look for well fitting clothes with basic color prints, and patterns. I really dislike obvious logos. I actually got a sewing machine to learn to sew, it is pretty easy and it's fun to make (or alter) clothes. My ideal is to look classy, unique , but not like I am screaming for attention. So I dress classy but understated.

Also, I try on clothes before I buy them. If I "feel" good in them then Ill buy it. I mean "feel" not "feel comfortable", it is like an over all feeling. I do not really understand the whole lounging around in sweat pants, I think a nice pair of jeans is more comfortable.

I totally relate to this! Yes, it's like you "know" when you put it on if it's the right combo of clothing for you.

And Lol. I love when I peak into this thread and see random moments like this:

^^ that sounds ridiculous. i blame the margaritas. :/
Do you abuse ellipses?...I do too lol
It always cracks me up the way ENFPs can completely leave the topic and come back.

And I totally get it. In my mind, it's all connected, too.

i love etsy too...and yeah i like to look a certain way...but i'd rather appear creative, artsy or fashionable than sexy or pretty or well groomed or whatever else. i think enfps certainly have a different thought process while getting dressed. like...i don't know if you guys do this too...but...it's like a fluid thing getting dressed...i could feel like wearing a dress...so i put one on...then it's cold...so i put on jeans...then...i decide i need a sweater...and...maybe boots instead of heels...the maybe a scarf and a hat...all a very normal process i'm sure...but i think it's possible other types might first think it's cold . i should wear this...or maybe...that's just me. :/

Ok I had to think about it...I think I get what you're saying, and I think I do it. But just in case, maybe you can explain it better when you're completely sober? hehe

I have to wear a suit to work nowdays, but I definitely like a vivid splash of color. I'll also wear striking combinations that most of my coworkers wouldn't DARE try but are still within the bounds of decorum. I push the envelope pretty far but not so far as to lose my job.

GOTTA BE SNAPPY!
