What are some questions you'd like to ask ENFPs?
Any questions, from random to intellectual or completely offensive, welcome! : D

What are your thoughts about my thoughts on Ni now? 🙂@Julian Grey
What you just typed about Ni is something that I feel I should be able to comprehend, but as I read those details and think about it, it's just right outside what my heart would accept. I'll sleep on it.
As for Ne-Si and Ne-Fi, I feel like I would give you a very boring answer as you are correct. I'll sleep on that too, maybe I can find something interesting to write.
Oh shoot, whoops. I don't think my mind ever really settled on that. Maybe it will in ten-ish hours. I'll set an alarm. What are your thoughts about my thoughts on Ni now? 🙂
I think I remembered a bit of why I couldn't put my thoughts together. The topic we were discussing at the start was whether or not an ENFP (or an INFJ) might be a more idealistic idealist. That discussion, I'm not sure I can retouch on. But we can still talk about Ni, but when it comes to describing these terms, I always find myself unable to find the right vocabulary terms to match up with these ideas.I think the contrast between Ni & Se is that Ni is about being able to predict what's going to happen (through theories, patterns, understanding how things work, principles, etc) and Se is the opposite in that it embraces the chaos, and almost prefers not to want to predict what will happen, but rather enjoy the randomness, which can be more exciting than "predictable".
So I see idealism in Ni as more about wanting to know what will or "should" happen.
So personality theory is obviously not something that you can use to predict what people will do, but it's something I (maybe a lot of INFJs?) wish it could. So when someone does something that aligns with personality theory "perfectly" it brings me a lot of (too much) joy. As if I'm coming closer to being able to predict human behaviour. I feel as though INFJs seem to be into personality and psychology for this particular reason - to have some degree of control or predictability over people's responses. Obviously, you can't predict people perfectly, and a healthy amount of Se is needed to be able to adapt to change.
So the opposite of ideal is when there's a theory of how things "ought to be" and INFJ latches on to that theory, and with Ti the theory seems to make plausible sense that it'll work out, (it could be very trivial like 'my partner generally likes red because last 5 dresses she bought was red') but the new data suggests it's not going to work, but the INFJ wants to believe that the theory works because it seems to make too much sense, if it's given a decent chance, then later finds out that the theory doesn't quite work out - at least not always or not this particular scenario - is when the ideal gets shattered, and things are very upsetting.
You seem to have defined it quite fine. Fi-Ne-Si works pretty "logically" to me.I'm keen to explore the Ne-Si or Ne-Fi more since I don't understand or experience it as deeply.
Is it about exciting possibilities vs being practical and tried and true methods?
Or how Fi and Ne relate to each other? I keep hearing it gets used to imagining lots of possible scenarios, especially for fiction. Could Ne/Fi idealism be about how an xNFP feels about different exciting possibilities? Almost in a daydreamer sort of way?
Your thoughts and insights are very helpful thanks! I agree!I think I remembered a bit of why I couldn't put my thoughts together. I've thought the difference is that the Ni-person would tentatively take a set of real data and derive an unseen connection from it. If something is missing, then it's because our real data isn't complete. An Ne-person would accept facts about our world, and extrapolate other unseen possible connections. If something is missing, then it's because we haven't considered all the possible possibilities.
When it comes to predicting human behavior, Ne may attempt to do the same, just in a different way. It's like personality theory is just one of the guesses we have to predict X person will do X thing. Sometimes the guess is wrong and that's okay, there's probably some better theory out there, we just haven't considered it yet. Is that why some Ne people are more likely to give more of a chance to different personality theories, even the ones that seem a lot more crazy?
As an INFP, I feel a little less qualified to speak about Ne than the ENFPs in their own forum
You seem to have defined it quite fine. Fi-Ne-Si works pretty "logically" to me.
1. I desire something
2. I make guesses at what could make it work
3. I settle on something
4. I ask myself, am I satisfied? If no, go to 5. If yes, go to 6.
5. Repeat from 1
6. No changes, continue on, keeping the mind open that it could be better
Its just that my guesses are a bit more of the intangible sort(?) Like when I was unhappy with how long dishes were taking to wash, I was considering differential equations. I could have a hypothetical dish that was gunked up with 50% water 50% soap mixture, and while I could dilute (rinse) it with 100% water, I could also shift in a solution of 80% water and 20% soap and get about the same result. The difference is I get to save water because that solution came from another dish I just washed.
Ehhhhhhhhh I'm starting to ramble.
1. It’ll be a lie if I were to say no - I wouldn’t say that it happens often but it has occurred many times beforeDEAR ENFPs!!!!!
Do you get shy in social situations where you don't know what to say often?
In social situations.. are you able to speak to Sensors without too much trouble?
Do you feel like you need permission from others to speak before you can naturally speak heaps?
(Just second guessing whether I'm INFJ or ENFP! 😜 - Though I'm pretty sure I'm INFJ... an ENFP wouldn't say that right? lol)
Sounds similar to me somewhat?1. It’ll be a lie if I were to say no - I wouldn’t say that it happens often but it has occurred many times before
2. I have had many wonderful conversations with sensors and intuitives . I also can’t tell the difference between the two first impression wise in social situations unless it’s extreme .
For the most part if someone converses with me first - I’m comfortable reciprocating the conversation or even leading
it . I’ve never approach anyone first though - this is a flaw of mine that I need to overcome.
3. Yes I do - I think this deals more with upbringing than my mbti type . I grew up conversing with adults 16-68 years older than I am . So naturally upon entering school most of my conversations were with my teachers /professors, so when it comes to meeting new people - I’m hesitant to approach first and I don’t feel like I should converse unless there’s a strong sign that someone l wants to listen. With all that said - I can’t control how much I talk when it’s with close friends/family members or when I get too excited what about you ?
It’s not uncommon to have depression and I’m sorry that you’re going through depression. Hugs 🤗.Why do I have depression and why am I so susceptible to it?
Your thoughts and insights are very helpful thanks! I agree!
I suppose we can ask the ENFPs now...
"Dear ENFPs... how does your Dom-Ne work with your Aux-Fi?" (is that good?)
Hell yeah!Do you ever wish you could sleep on the beach of a tropical island away from everyone else and just lay there indefinitely?
I know I do.
