What would you in this scenario?

It is sunset, and you're in a restaurant for dinner. You just want to go home and sleep because you are tired and a bit stressed from the long day. You walk to the soda/water dispenser to get some water. Next to you is some kid who is holding an empty cup and too short to reach for the dispenser. He just looks up at you with the empty cup. What do you do?

Get him a drink(why aren't his parents helping him). I probably wouldn't even be at the resturant if I was sooo tired though.

Why are you helping him? Is it because you are socially programmed to help those in need? How do you know for sure he needs help with the dispenser? What drove you to the conclusion? He did not even ask you for help, nor did he even mutter a single word.

I would probably ask him what he wants. If he says, "I want water but I can't reach" then I'll help him get some water. It seems like the most logical thing to do. If he says, "Nothing, I'm just standing here", I'd nod and be on my merry way home.

I would ask him what he wanted first, obviously. I just didn't put that because it's so obvious. If he is at a drink dispenser & holding his cup up, then it is logical that he wants something to drink, or ice, or something. I should have added details, but right now I am tired(just like your senario! lol).
But all of that nonsense is cancelled out by my second sentence, so none of it even really matters. If I was tired, I would not be at a resturant, I would go through the drive-thru

I would ask him where his parents were first, then make sure it was ok with them that he have a drink. At which point they would (hopefully) take over the process and I can be on my merry way.

I would ask him if he wanted a drink or some water, and then if he said yes I would help fill the cup for him. Wouldn't anyone do that?

Does everyone follow the same thought process as you? An ENFP friend of mine who dislikes kids in general told me, laughing, how she noticed the kid but didn't do anything and just walked away. She justified that by telling me that "if he wanted something, then he could've just asked, not expect me to do the work for him."

Hahaha of course we all have different perspectives, the question wasn't serious. I assumed you were asking to know if everyone would help one way or another. However, probably not everyone would help even when questioned. I can understand that view, too.

Haha. I see, it's so hard to notice that when not conversing in person. My bad. Let's move on.
