I'm curious, do male Fi Aux&Dom users heavily suppress their Introverted Feeling side for the sake of society's expectations on males? Also, could this apply to male Fe Aux&Dom users as well?
I'm asking this question because I want to know what that's like since I believe that I've been doing something like this for most of my life.
ExFPs tend to overuse Te as a defence mechanism - it's usually referred to as looping. All types tend to engage in tertiary loops when stressed enough, males and females alike. In the case of ENFPs, it's tempting to ignore Fi altogether and go straight into Ne-Te in order to avoid consulting their personal, emotionally vulnerable compass. Many ENFPs see their emotions and feelings unsuitable for the competitive career lives they live, yet Fi is the only way they can retain sanity.
You are asking if other people addapt their behaviour to society............ Ofcourse they do. Some do it in a similar way like you. Others do it in totally different ways. This is not exclusive to Fe/Fi. All types have to addapt to societal expectations. Some do this with pleasure and expects others to be just as happy about it. Others aren't as comfortable with it but do it anyway. Some just don't do it. I'm sure you know some...
Mostly in my work environment, Extraverted-Sensors smell fear quickly. Also in an educational environment, and well, I guess this is kinda obvious. But if a peer is teaching me something difficult and is somewhat agressive in their methods, I just gotta "man up" I suppose.
I agree that for ENFPs this is probably less gender-based than personality-based, even though I'm not a guy... However, I've been described (by an ENTJ no less!) as "the most analytical person I've met," too logical, not in touch with my heart and emotions (because they should be private, people!! hah, hah!), too focused, very serious. Geesh. It gets really annoying since I dislike being misunderstood, and from my vantage point I do and say crazy things that make people laugh, I can be spacey with wild flights of fancy that drive the serious-minded crazy, I'm a free spirit who defies just about any convention. I tend to think we're a load of contradictions for people, and therein lies some of the challenge...
I also know a male INFJ whom I've described as more of a girl than I am... So, you may just be normal for an ENFP!
