I've never dated an ENTP but I have been 'charmed' by a few (they are good that at :P)

The Ne/Ne dynamic is CRAZY. My experience of this primarily comes from a 2 and half year relationship with another ENFP. There is definitely never a dull moment when Ne is in the drivers seat. My only concern would be complete 'burn-out.' This is what happened with my ENFP and I; we were both too 'head in the clouds' and jumping all over the place - we both needed some kind of anchor and gounding, neither of which either of us could provide the other. Having said this, this was during my early 20s. I would imagine that two mature/healthier Ne-doms would be able to find a way to manage this aspect of the relationship.

Personally, I find myself prone to clashing with both Ti and Fe. I'm not trying to wage a war against users of these functions; I just find that I have to be more wary when it comes to certain types of discussion/conversation. My biggest issues are with Fe, and seeing as this is the tertiary function for ENTPs - I doubt this would be a huge problem (unlike it is with Fe-doms and I, eek) By the way - I'm not typist! I'm just stating that I do tend to have difficulties linked to Fi v Fe clash!

ENTPs do crack me up though. They are so much fun to hang with. I wouldn't date according to MBT; however, the older I get, the more I look for a partner who can help me keep my feet on the ground (as well as letting me spend 80% of my time- head in clouds, with the faeries XD)

    I'm such a rambler >.<

I love it when you ramble; you take us such interesting places! : )

I am like you in that I'd love to find the balance of someone who can be grounding while accepting -- even delighting in! -- my randomness. It's hard to find, I fear. Most of my past loves either wanted to be head in the clouds with me (I've dated mostly NPs) or pathologise me/ disapprove of me because of my joyous-untidy-imaginative-unorganized ways (I've dated a few STJs). I think the answer for me will be a mature and grounded xNTP or an xNTJ whose J has been softened a bit by the years.

I'm (kind-of) in the beginning stages of a relationship with an INTJ. Let me tell you; that J-business will not bother you one bit once you get lost in the beauty of Ni-Fi (Te is good for kicking us up the ass when we need it, making us focus, and for strenghting our tertiary function). The connection is amazing - I'm surpised at how similar we actually are under the surface (our minds aren't too different; I think the matching middle-two functions really help. Also, with Ne-Si and Ni-Se - there is enough difference there to keep things spicy :P)

I totally just vomitted xNTJ-love all over the ENTP & ENFP thread. Sorry guys, I love you too <3

Thought I'd offer the perspective of an ENTP female with an ENFP male. This is my experience from my last relationship which didn't last too long. It didn't work out due to practicality. Our relationship dynamic is better off platonic.

    Pros:
    - conversations flow like water (on topics of all variations)
    - open and honest communication
    - creative ways of fun
    - chilling with an ENFP is the most amazing thing ever, and I miss moments of laying with him, cuddling and just talking about anything and everything
    - hilarious moments (mutual sense of humour)
    - share a lot of similar morals and philosophies (when it comes to liberalism and unconventional thinking)
    - similar interests as well as both have different hobbies and interests which can be seen as an opportunity for growing and learning
    - understand each other crazily well! (connection is on another level)

    Cons:
    - rushing into things without thinking
    - making naive moves (such as getting emotionally attached quickly - from both parties)
    - flaky decisions which haven't been thought out
    - too observant of each other's behaviours at times where it ends up in awkward moments
    - difficulty in planning dates/when to meet up
    - Sometimes ENFPs have tendencies to "beat around the bush" and withhold what they truly mean to say (which is highly frustrating as a Thinking type)

Honestly from being in relationships with them, although they are fun they can be super BRASH and make weirdo decisions that will through any self-respecting ENFP off the saddle. Certainly did that to me. Their harsh Thinking side can really freak you out when you're starting to think that you're soulmates.
Oh...and they love to plot. I love to plot. But it goes beyond plotting. This is like world takeover here and sometimes the questionable ethics can be really freaky.

Otherwise...man they are fun! But again the one coming up in my mind was an emotionally immature one

Actually I've said lots on this relationship. I'd like to hear my boyfriend's perspective on it.

Come on out, @My Own Worst Judge.

GREAT conversation with ENTPs of opposite sex... we are kindred spirits in friendship. There is also a fun and light element of sexual tension, which is obvious but just contributes to the fun we have together. I have no idea why I would never ever date one. Ended up going a step past friends a couple times... but never fathomed any commitment. No idea why.

I think if we dated I would never get any breathing room. It would be CONSTANT interaction, which I actually really don't want. Sometimes - just leave me alone! And I think inside, being enneagram 9, I really crave some stability. I would never ever get that from this combination.

I had great open-minded sex with a brilliant ENTP before.

When I met him, he told me he was an "ENTP with I and J leanings". I had no idea what MBTI was back then. And now that I know what MBTI is, I still don't understand what he meant.

He was a bit of an intellectual playuh. Had devoted his life to the game. But he prided himself on his honesty. He was honest.

That was five years ago. If he decides to settle down and want to marry me, I'll be ready. It was a fantastic, mind blowing adventure.

And since I once lived with and engaged to another ENFP, I'm sure I could do the same with an ENTP. And like I've said before, I already live one-on-one with an ENTP right now- my teenage daughter. Lordy, we can hang. We're nuts.

INTJs ground me a little more and have way more acceptance. ENTPs and I duke it out more and they can be extremely abrasive. I also relate to the Te logic of the INTJ more than I do Ti logic. So I feel like INTJs really "get" me and explain things to me in a way that I understand.

My ENTP daughter is obsessed with INTPs irl. I don't know how she does it. But when these guys come over, I have them take the test and they turn out INTP. I don't like ENTP and INTP together. I deal with it all the time. It's creepy. Really creepy. Too creepy.

What are your experiences with/ thoughts on ENFPs and ENTPs together?
I was involved with an ENTP once, but because we were both very unhealthy and immature at that stage, it didn't work out. We had crazy chemistry, though, and he was a lot of fun to be around. Whilst it lasted, I was able to speak to him on a level I can rarely broach with anyone; that was our shared Ne talking, and we could talk for hours.

The only other ENTP I encountered was a boy who used to bully me when we were kids, so I think I'm kind of biased in my view of ENTPs due to bad experiences with them. It's likely that said ENTPs had poorly developed Fe and were unhealthy/more interested in their own gains than anything else. I would certainly consider romantic and friendly relationships with balanced, healthy individuals of this type. Imagine all the exciting debates we could have, and the knowledge and experiences we could share, as well as the good-natured rivalry/competition and the theories we could explore/test.. man, that would be EPIC.
