Why is the ENFJ forum such a ghost town?

So ... other than the obvious ..."they're extroverts and busy doing stuff" ....

why is this place such a ghost town ... probably least frequented of the extroverted forums on PerC ..... even more so than the ESFJ forum --- which at least attracts a lot of venting posts.

    Why, Why Why ???

    *sigh*

Perhaps only ENFJs who have had to delve in their intuitive side trying to understand themselves end up here.

Keep in mind that NF interactions involve a vast amount of nonverbal communication, and so while these forums are good for figuring out things, they do not result in very satisfying interactions -- the kind that are filled with warmth. You might think the INFp forum is some sort of perfect example of deep communication, but it's just people being analytical and relating to eachother's experiences. My interactions with other INFps or INFjs, especially one-on-one, usually involve so much more emotional depth and empathy. You get moments where deep understanding is communicated without words. Often, my friends manage to make me felt really loved and appreciated. Also, INFps can be creative with Fe, so we can get very silly and hugely flirtatious, but only when the feel of the group environment seems accomodating (which can't happen here). Similarly, I can't make people laugh when I'm not feeling connected to them. Not to mention, I tend to be mindful of younger people, so I scale back on the sexual innuendo and swearing.

I actually like this forum and some of the regular posters. (And, I kind of like you.) There's a tiny bit of ENFj in every INFp and it reminds me of me but with a completely different emphasis on things. (Mirror relations) So, it's very interesting to read here and to relate to you guys.

Also, I wasn't previously aware that ENFjs care about being understood. You'd think they'd try to get me to talk one-on-one to accomplish that. I appreciate getting invited to lots of social events and having fun, but that type of activity is not really well suited for connecting on a deep level. So, I've realized it's probably more my responsability to return the favor, and to make that happen like I do with my introverted friends.

Well, if you're bored and you're so likely to thank posts, could you please check out my entry in the song thread. It's so far in the ghost town that I'm kind of worried that no one will notice it. :)

They're out connecting with people in the real world I suppose. I know, it's such a pity because ENFJ is such a special type. It's unfair that we only get to have a few here :(

Well -- the males are even more rare -- rarest after the INFJ males according to some web-sites :/ It's not really about feeling special --- honestly, if I had a group of guys to hang out with right now, I'll probably be with them out there getting into trouble somewhere XD or couped up in a pool hall, or bar or coffee shop just talking about how wonderful life is, or could be.

I usually find myself retreating here not because I'm an introverted ENFJ looking for self-development. I think I've achieved everything MBTI has to offer, so my learning is complete. I just like the idea of being surrounded by people :)

Aah well --- at least I ain't completely alone :D KC's fairly regular .. and @Twoshoe ... you made such valid points. A lot of the ENFJ's that do come here do so while they're taking breaks from their RL friends, or if they're in situations where they're in some sort of a limbo between friendships, or altering life situations.

Sometimes makes it hard to follow a thread as well cause it helps me to see if anything is developing or coming up.

Sadly not everyone does. Least not much here anyways. Haven't been venturing out much of late.

And the fact that it's a ghost town is driving me crazy. Maybe I'll venture out further to the other subforums. ENFPs, INFPs, ISFJs, heck, lets try the ISTJ forums too... but definitely not the NT forumz...

Aah well .... I rarely go into the ENTP or INTP forums ... but I'm a fairly regular lurker in the INTJ forums --- sometimes I do poke my head, make some sort of politically correct statement in a thread which is not getting flamed and leave with my dignity intact. The INTJ's if given credit for their opinion and accepted for *how* they express their opinions have some amazing things to say.

A lot of them really are making a conscious effort to try to be as civil and accommodating to the NF's :) That effort alone deserves appreciation in my books. The curtailment of sarcasm that would normally piss off an NF in itself is a huge achievement in their posts. I can just imagine how hard it is for them to be civil because they are just as badly subject to the wrath of the NF's as the NF's are to theirs.

Also, don't forget that the INTJ's with a tertiary Fi are actually a very deep feeling type.

Oh .. and as for the ISTJ's ... they seem to thank everything XD so I wonder if I'm getting thanked even if I didn't have anything actually valuable to say XD hahaha. That comes with being a type 6.

Ha. I've been in college since my last post--going on three weeks. After I've completed my reading/studying, I'm usually out socializing. I am hardly in my room or on my computer. However, when I need my down time (time to think and reflect), I'll pay a visit to PerC.
