    How to find an ENFJ?

Hope you don't mind an INTJ popping into your subgroup but I was wondering how I could recognize an ENFJ if I saw one.

For example, at a party, you would find me (INTJ) standing by the food mumbling something about how my girl robot could make better Hors d'oeuvre.

Would you the one that planned the event and now sits back and bask in the glow?
Would I find you telling a funny story surrounded by strangers who think your very entertaining?
Are you the silly one with a lamp on your head?
Or maybe you are the one flirting with someone else's SO?

As you can see I really have no idea how to find you.

All of the above while none at the same time.

I am ENFJ. I am the chameleon.

    Would you like a drink?

As well, you don't find us, we find you.

Perhaps you should ask the ladies, they have a good eye for us.

    Capiche?

    Now scram.

*Well we can get a bit excited about parties so we can appear a bit over the top sometimes. If we aren't then the party isn't exciting enough, which means you will probably see us listening with a bored look on our face to some person with a monotoned voice relaying their mundane week in painful detail, whilst we simultaneously look for an escape route, any reason to leave that conversation.
*Look where there are people laughing, loudly.
*Look for people who flit around the whole room trying to talk to almost everyone, within the evening.
*If there is a dance floor we will be the ones dancing, only stopping long enough to grab a drink and cool down before more dancing.
*If there is a karaoke machine, we will be one of the first to put our hand up for a turn.
*If you see someone glowing from a recent compliment then we probably just spoke to them.

I'm next to the smoothie machine :)

Honestly, you can't find us. Not only have scientist discovered ninja blood that runs through our veins, but our Fe tends to adapt to the environment. Sometimes.

Look for overly expressive people, laugh the loudest, cry the hardest, and boogie the bestest. Then, in all of those look for the ones who understand issues, and work for a win-win situation. (For example, counseling a friend at a party)

Edit: i was a fool and didn't read the above post <3 She said everything I just said. haha

Also: don't look for us near the books.

Well, I know one who hangs out at the library from time to time and likes to read books among other things, but yeah, probably that's not the most likely place you would meet her...still, from what you said it sounded like there is an aversion to books, which I think may be accurate for you maybe, but not for ENFJs in general.

I know that Fi-doms like to do what you just did, but don't.

I read books quite frequently. But at a party, no, you won't find enfjs around many books at all. Also, I would like for you to prove that enfjs in general don't have an aversion to books. Or that they do? Or perhaps its a case by case basis.

I know I'm coming across as harsh, but I think thats just a fe-dom vs. a fi-dom. I enjoy reading books etc, but if we got awesome music and awesome people? I can read books later. (But as Ti as our inf function no, you won't catch us doing much of that, even though we are perfectly capable.)

Unless you our referring to novels and the like, which I along with the few enfjs I know have a great affinity for.

In retrospect I do want to reiterate I'm not trying to shut you down, thats just one of my pet peeves. I'm leaving the original post though, incase you want to know what I actually wrote. But essentially: I do enjoy reading, but people > books. Also ENFJs are physical shape shifters, so naturally we can be very different.

I was thinking about parties initially but there is also coffee shops, we looooove talking to friends over coffee.

And yes Razvan I have been known to occasionally browse slowly around a book shop or library. Actually I need some more fiction recommendations because I have read all of my fave author's books.

Since we are rather image orientated, or at least this perfectionist is, I will be out running or at a Zumba class, and you will find others at a gym in some high impact class probably.

I love movies! So sometimes I go to the cinema on my own while the kids are at school. That way I get to pick lol.

Actually, not sure it's an Fi Dom thing and if it is, maybe I just did it again? I would be curious to know why you think it is, don't have much experience with functions.

I actually didn't realise this was a strictly party thing, so ok, sorry about that. I don't know if I can proove ENFJs don't have an aversion to books in general, but in my opinion, there is no logical reason why any personality type would have an aversion to books, from my experience studying INFPs, which I was able to do more (since there are more of us around here), there are people who dive into the imaginary wold books provide and people who don't and prefer other ways. If you know the learning preferences test from mypersonality.net, it can be pretty interesting to see the learning style of people and most of the learning styles of INFPs are person specific from what I saw so far, so I don't see any connection to personality. Of course, I extrapolated the same for all personality types.

Plus, you just said you like to read books freqvently, so I'm guessing there is no aversion to books. But in your case, I thought you were speaking in general, about staying away from books and not just regarding parties.

I don't feel you come across as harsh, just overly excited. You sound more like a challenge, but then again, I can't hear teh tone of your voice and see the expression on your face, but know, I don't think you come off as harsh. And yeah, I got it, you were thinking about a party, that detail escaped me.

Didn't feel like you were trying to shut me down (plus it can be pretty difficult to do so), but thanks for all the explanations (I think it's funny and cute you tried to say the same thing in different ways, to be sure there is no misunderstanding).

I don't like it when people think I'm mean :( however I enjoy human interaction so I get really excited about that kind of stuff. Even to the point I thought I was ENTP at one point. But a P? NOOOOOOOO WAYYYYYY
