    Applying Introspection

Ok, I'm having trouble finding a job right now. I'm still a young guy, so I feel like there is still hope. I have so many interesting things going on in my head, but the only outlet that I have been able to really express any of it is through writing. I've been hoping to find something in that area ever since I was a small child. Well, it's hard to get into that, and what's worse is I don't really know anybody to help me get my foot in the door. Right now, I would be willing to take just about any job I could get.

    Some questions (mostly for introverts):

    • Have you been able to find a job that puts your introspective analysis to use?
    • Do you feel that it's necessary for it to be applied to the external environment, or are you content with keeping it to yourself?
    • Do you really want to be in the "background", or would you like to make a "foreground" contribuition with the stuff going on in your head?

Yes, working as a software engineer does lead me to put various introspective analysis skills to use investigating problems, designing solutions and figuring out how things work.

Mixture of it being applied externally and kept internally. I may have a few different ways to resolve something and thus state my analysis for someone else to decide which course of action to approve or recommend. I may in alternate situations keep a few ideas to myself rather than share them as I may feel they are poor ideas to share.

I want to be in the background, lurking among the shadows. I like being that ghost that isn't known or understood but just works along doing what is asked. I like knowing what is being done and doing my part, but I don't like getting a lot of attention for doing what I do.
