"The Achiever" and Psychometric Job Tests

    Hi,
I recently took a psychometric test for a job I applied for, which I passed. It was called 'The Achiever' (***.virtualhrcenter.com/sampleEvaluator/FullAchiever.htm, you'll have to fit in the www as I don't have 15 posts yet)) . Does anyone know what scale this works on? Myers or Briggs, Enneagram etc?

What intrigued me about the tests, and reading up about what companies want you to answer is that, answers on breaking the rules are all encouraged! Probably helps to explain why some of the financial institutions are in the mess they are. Which is ironic as I don't think you are supposed to cut and paste the test from them, so if anyone wants me to cut and paste it, let me know. :)

I should add that I am an Enneagram type 5/ Jung INTJ Scientist)

It looks like something closer to the Big Five/OCEAN test. I'm sure you can find correlations between the scores on that and this test and MBTI and Enneagram type. What sort of company was it? If I may ask. I agree, I think that the higher-ups in some institutions want to hire people only like themselves (risk-takers, rule breakers, etc), and they are left with no balance.

Now a day's many companies use this test because it is a central part of recruitment process. These tests are used during the recruitment stage to support the organization to make the best choice in selecting the most appropriate applicants. It is play an important role whenever it is used for personal development because it helps in understanding more about your personality and values.

The Achiever? Sounds like you have some Enneagram type 3 in you. I once thought I was a core type 5. As it turns out, I had mistyped and from what I've read, many people who start out thinking they are 5s find out they are 3s along the way. It's quite rare for someone who begins a 3 to discover later on that they are 5.
I realize the test that you took may have been mostly work-oriented and not really life-oriented but perhaps you should look into the Enneagram type 3. See if you can relate.
