If you ask me, it is society as a whole. We glorify youth and anything that has to do with being young, and we even make a profit off it. To me it makes no sense, I look up to my elders and I see them as beautiful and intelligent people who lived and seen things. And I'm a huge believer that age shouldn't matter when it comes to beauty or youth; if anything to me age is better.

I don't like to express my age much because people expect by certain ages, that you've done certain things. You must walk at this age. You must be able to speak at this age. You should have kids around this age, and you should stop having fun and settle down at this age. You go to school between these ages. You can only drink/smoke/drive after you reach a certain age. Almost everything in society is determined by age.

If you're ahead or behind your age frame, whether it's physically, emotionally or mentally, people start questioning and making judgments. And that's when I start clamming up. It's nothing about appearance at all, at least for me

Same. I couldn't care less what men want from me. I don't flaunt my age because I don't want the questions or the judgments that come with knowing my age. If someone asks, I've no problems telling them how old I am but I don't like to flash it around. I don't think I'm the best example of what is normal for a female my age, so hiding it is less of a hassle.
