    Let's all smoke some K2.

    So apparently the kids have found a new way to get high. It's called K2 and it's basically synthesized marijuana. It's sold as incense, but kids buy it to smoke it and get fucked up. Around here, some kid murdered his dad with a baseball bat while he was high on K2. And some local judge was on the news saying she's seen lots of kids get in trouble due to K2. Apparently they report feeling "demonic posession." while on it.

    So the question is, should they make it illegal? I don't think they should, but they should only sell to 18+ Now here's my reasoning, You could be a totally nice person, but after a few drinks get angry and start beating your wife and children. Should they outlaw alcohol? No, you should learn not to be a dickhead on it, or not use it. Same thing with K2. I've smoked it myself and never did anything crazy. I just felt like I was high.

    What do you guys think? Wanna smoke some K2 with me?

    Try some Bath Salts.
    I hear they're good.

    Normal marijuana wouldn't ever be the cause of those kinds of violent actions. I don't know anything about K2 or how different/similar it is to the weed sold by the good old fashioned local drug dealer, but if that girl seriously felt the compulsion to murder her dad with a bat, ...its because she wanted to kill him, not because of what she smoked.

    Drugs don't kill people, people kill people.

    'Alcohol is legal, and so other types of drugs should be too.' What poor, immature reasoning! I'm guessing you're still in highschool.
    Synthetic marijuana compounds are already illegal in many countries on the grounds that they cause functional disturbances in the body; various kinds of side effects, such as narcotics-like withdrawals, convulsions and possibly psychosis, were identified and further studies are being conducted as of now.

    Here in Detroit some kids smoked K2 then got the bright idea to attack one of their families with a baseball bat (Dad dead, Mom and son in critical condition, 8 year old daughter hid in closet). Many people are trying to get it banned here and with good reason.

    BTW, I don't know why it's called synthetic marijuana because frankly everyone in a local news piece who has taken it said it just made them lose their mind and act crazy.

    K2 and other types of "spice" are synthesized cannabinoid extracts placed on plant matter. These extracts are extremely potent and have little to no testing. "Spice" has caused heart attacks, seizures, and death; this shit needs to be illegal. Cannabis is a far safer alternative.

    Whoa, sorry, I almost fell down there. This slope sure is slippery... They should put up a sign or something.

    @KindOfBlue06

    Where did you hear this story? Do you have a citation/online source where you found it? I ask because I'm curious to see it.

    I have watched plenty of A&E's "Intervention". I haven't seen an episode involving K2, but I did see one where a guy was addicted to bath salts. He got sick from them too (was diagnosed as "schizotypal", and had terrible, frightening hallucinations). These "legal drugs" can be just as bad as many illegal drugs. I am sick and tired of pot being demonized. No one has dropped dead from it. For some people (those with certain illnesses), it may be saving their own life, or improving the quality of their life. I am personally disgusted by laws regarding marijuana in most of the world. In Canada, it is illegal, but is usually only enforced if you are suspected of dealing. Most people who are caught with pot on them simply have it confiscated by the cops. In the States, however, people are jailed for simple position. Jailed- and for what? Doing something that hurts no one, or in some cases, using it to help with medical conditions but being unable to obtain it legally due to a bunch of "red tape" and what not. I feel very sorry for you guys in the States. I think it is reprehensible to punish someone in that extreme way for using pot or any drug. Addiction should be treated as a *medical* issue, not a *legal* one.
