I think I'd like to point out that saying "There is no debate" doesn't actually close a debate. It just points to the speaker's closed attitude toward the subject.

I have studied the Sociology of Sexual Identity a little, and it seems to me that sexual identity relates as much to how a person identifies themselves, as to what they do. Plenty of people who would identify themselves as gay have/do engage in Heterosexual sex. Similarly, many people who identify as straight have engaged in homosexual sex (example, men in prison are often (when outside) actively homophobic, but will engage in homosexual sex in prison. They do not identify as gay). Gay and Straight are fluid social constructs, and do not, necessarily equate to Homosexual and Heterosexual.
