    Do you believe in magic?

Magic/the occult/the esoteric. Being able to influence people or events through the use of rituals or some other instrument. Do you believe in it?

I personally used to when I was younger. But now I feel superstitious and immature to believe in any such thing. Yet a part of me still wants to believe it. And a part of me definitely still believes in unseen things we haven't explained yet. I'm just not as quick to define them or believe in theoretical explanations of them.

Kinda sorta, but no. Hear me out, though.

I say magic is simply perspective. One's 'magic' might just be another's 'physics'.

When I was still learning PHP and databases, some of the code was quite 'magical' to me. I didn't understand it at first, or why it worked, but I knew it did something and could figure out what it did. For quite a while I was like this with pagination scripts, they were very esoteric to me, but I figured out where to plug in numbers and variables to make it work regardless of not understanding how it worked, almost like some kind of incantation or ritual.

Eventually I figured out how and why pagination scripts work and eventually developed my own, so they kind of ceased to be magic and became mundane.

Rituals are just symbols. They don't hold any powers in themselves. People relate to them, so they like to use them. It makes their process of belief easier to assimilate. It's individual. But do I believe in actual magic? Of course I do. IT'S CALLED LOVE. HELLO????????

Beyond that misunderstanding, no. No magic, no ghosts, no anything like that. Just things I/we can't explain yet, but that doesn't make them "magic" in the sense you are describing.

no. I've never heard of a magicact that hasn't been "uncovered" so to speak.

Yes! Magic exists! It's called, ''Science.''

Anything unexplained is simply science that is not yet understood! :D

If you think of history, and how people relied upon explanations of superstition to explain phenomenon, when they became understood, they were added to the realm of 'science'.

So! Whenever somebody says, ''Magic'' to you, just replace it with the word ''Science'', and allow yourself to be immensely amused. Maybe giggle out loud at them, and proclaim, ''SCIENCE! MWA HAHAHA!''

Science is as exciting as magic, too. I think people don't think it's as alluring, because people see it as 'concrete'. But it's always moving. It's never completely understood, and there is so much mystery and intrigue. There is always more to learn. FUN-NESS!

Magic in a sense of pulling a coin out of a kids ear or any other trick like that, then no I don't believe in it.

Yes, a result is a result. If ghosts do exist then they are natural, if something defies scientific explanation doesn't mean that it doesn't work. For me the fascination with the esoteric is in the subjective as in contrast to our everyday objectively oriented constructs.
