Christians: Have you read the Bible?

This is a thread asking those who consider themselves Christians how much of the Bible they have read.

    There is also a poll.

Thank you for your responses and thoughts, including mention of which version of the Bible you have read, and what the Bible means to you. Responses from non-Christians are welcome.

I believe in Jesus but I also believe in the way of power which Jesus does not seem to like, but anyway I have only read the first 5 books of the Bible, Mathew, and Revelations so that's 1-25%

I took a literature of the Bible course otherwise I would have never made it through, despite its awesome nuggets. 50-99% here.

I've read the entire thing 8 times, and many passages 100's of times. I have many portions memorized

I didn't know what the term Christian was until i came to PerC. No i don't live under a rock, i just obviously don't embrace in anything religious. Spiritual yes, religious no. To answer the question, no, i haven't read any Christian bibles. Don't judge me people, just leave this as it is, thanks.

I've read all of the KJV. I've compared KJV to other versions before, but other versions seems to stray further away from the actual meaning. I have to go look up what the words mean in the original languages as it is with the KJV. These other versions really just seem to veer even further off course. Obviously, this is my personal experience. I would encourage others who are interested to check this out for themselves :)

Honestly, while many would not consider me a Christian, I still consider myself a sort of follower of Jesus Teachings, even though I am not bound by it. But I will say, I have read every bit of the New Testament, many times over, but the OT I have only read some of it. The OT is not reader friendly, I rather read Greek mythologies.

I've read 100%. But I can't say I'm a christian as I don't believe everything in the bible is true.

Do they have a bible for dummies yet?

Not necessarily a Christian, read the bible (KJV) in about 2 weeks. If you are going to read just part of the Bible, skip the old testament. ;)
    Stephen thanked this post.
