Have you experienced this? I experience it every fucking day. Reality is constantly shifting and reverberating, expanding and molding itself, engaging in metamorphosis. Things are so fucking simple until you examine them.

Can't say I have. Interesting though. You can....sense the cosmos?

  3. #3

Yes. I cannot possibly explain it with words, as words are merely a reflection of the mechanics of my cognitive processes, but to put it into words: yes, I can sense the cosmos.

So, I remember when I was a kid and first learned about atoms. Haha, I think it was Bill Nye or something. I remember hearing that everything was made of these atoms. I know even then the gravity of what I just heard. I remember watching everything I saw break apart. I was an elementary school child, so I couldn't grasp the enormity. I remember wondering what separates us then, why was I me and separate from the air separate from the chair I was on. There was no knowledge to support these wonderings, but it was a large step.

Fast forward about two decades. I can't actually bring myself to see anything as different than anything else. I see different manifestations of the same parts. Everything is a reflection of something else. When I try to grasp it and verbalize it, it's impossible. Because, even the smallest piece of the puzzle is completely dependant on the big picture.

The stars, the universe, our planet, the animals, the microcosms within, all are patterns, rhymes, reflections, of each other. I don't feel like I can even continue this post because just typing it starts to sound cheesy, and I hardly know where to begin.

    We are one.

One of my good friends is an INTJ/5w6.

He frequently talks about how he'll be sitting in class bored, and he'll suddenly just "step outside being human" and start looking at the universe globally. And he'll start thinking like, "It's ridiculous that we have hair." And he'll start thinking about how absurd it is that we go through this daily pattern. Like, what would we think if we saw white lab rats sitting perfectly still in a 6 x 7 formation of desks staring at another rat drawing on a rectangle with a piece of chalk? And forgetting fashion...why the hell do we wear clothes at all?

He sort of deconstructs everything around him by viewing the human condition within the context of evolutionary biology, genetics, neuroscience, and reinforcement theory. In this same way, he'll sometimes use astronomy, physics, and chemistry to dissect our planet/habitat.

I only get that about once or twice a year, and I told him so. And he was really puzzled, because it happens to him almost every day.

I disagree. I'm including everything, and people are just part of it as equally large and small as anything else.

I think Selene phrased it better than I did. :/ I don't have the time to gather my thoughts properly.

I view things in context to how I understand they work. The more I know, the more everything begins to intertwine. I have had flashes of cosmic understanding, which must be very closely related to spirituality. I don't see how anyone can't be awestruck when they understand that there is only one existence and we are not separate from it all.

It also makes simply being that much more of a mystery.

Idk, I'll be thinking about it.

To me that video lacked an awe factor. I'm constantly stunned by the universe, but that vid actually made me feel a sense of detachment and powerlessness. Hrmm.... I think we're far more powerful both as individuals, and a collective, than has been properly realised yet.
