If you build an intelligent bomb that can decide for itself whether it detonates or not, you are responsible for it. How can you not be?

Yeah, you don't choose to have the bomb detonate, the bomb chooses that. But you ARE responsible for making it a bomb and giving it a choice.

As much as I want to know why, the meaning of life, and other philosophical questions, at the end of the day unless I start a cult I probably won't be able to convince anyone else in the world. It's entirely possible someone already guessed the meaning of life, and the real answer just never caught on. I would ask something more concrete and directly helpful to myself and humanity. (This is where you can stop reading. Everything else is imaginative daydreaming.) Like...

What specific word for word lecture would someone have to give me to allow me to within a year understand and build a device capable of supplying electric energy in a safe, cheap, renewable, and environmentally friendly manner to the degree that it would solve humanity's current energy concerns? I would then patent and market the device, selling energy with a very low profit margin (still making trillions if you sell to the entire world). A man can do a lot of things with enough money, whether those things are personal or humanitarian in nature.

    Goals accomplished:
    1. Help the world.
    2. Get famous
    3. Make $$$.
    4. Pontentially be happier than if I knew the meaning of life, why evil exists, etc. since the answer could be a major downer for all we know.
    5. Hire enough mercenaries to protect me from the undercut energy industry.

    What are you?

Though, I'm guessing the issue with this is whether I or anyone could understand the answer.

He is obligated if he expects a certain result and is really the only one qualified to ensure that result. He doesn't have to control anything, but he still set it all up and made it possible - any resulting scenario is because of how he set things up.
I agree; he is responsible for our flaws, not our actions. God made us as we are, but he does not control us.
But has God directly told you not do it? No, we have heard this from the bible. To me, God and the bible are two different things.

Comparing a bomb to a human being is not relevant. Unlike the bomb, human beings have something called conciousness. Though the bomb may be able to decide between detonating or not as you say, it does not have a mind of it's own. It does not have the level of intelligence and emotion that a human being has.

Nevertheless, I understand what you mean. In my view, God does not have a right to bring one into this world as they are and expect them to live an alternate life as someone else for his benefit. But he does have the right to bring one into this world with conciousness, show them a so called right path and so called wrong path, imagining that they do exist, and expect them to choose the appropriate one.
