God doesn't destroy Satan just because the Devil's jealous?

People have asked the question about why God doesn't just destroy Satan and stop evil if He's so powerful, and it seems there is some truth to the common answer: "Because He is merciful and even the demons of Hell and Satan himself are not past His love." This explains how God does not let jealousy or envy get in the way of His work and love for humanity; if God was to angrily retaliate by destroying Satan just because Satan and his followers are jealous or envious of God's power, then it would just tarnish God's reputation by showing Him as immature and abusing His powers, hence letting the Devil win. However, if the Devil and his followers were trying to destroy society at the "end of days," then God will have a good reason to put Satan down if doing so could save humanity. Please let me know your opinions. Thank you.

I always got told "Because acceptance of God must be a choice or it is meaningless, ergo Satan must exist to create the choice" Not that i'm religious, that's just what we got told in Primary school.
Curious, what type of Christian (or other religion) are you?

(Not starting a debate about why to believe or not)

So, God can destroy Satan in theory, but he is merciful and loves them at his core. But God created mercy and love, and thus for him to adhere to them is meaningless because he could change their very natures—unless that is to say that God is subject to those feelings, which we can immediately disregard, as that would mean his power is limited.

God does not strike down Satan because he would be acting immaturely and abusive, and yet he created and has full control over these notions as well. He is everything, and therefore he sees all, knows all that has been, is, and will be, and understands the underpinnings of every facet of that which exists and does not exist. If not, he is not all-powerful. Therefore, he always knew that when he created Satan what he would do, why he would do it, and when. The actions of Satan are then merely an extension of the actions of God.

To say that God is all-powerful is a explanation that fits under its own reasoning. It is technically possible that we are living a fabrication, but it takes the age-old question of the meaning of life and utterly nullifies it.

To say that God is prone to the same failings as we human beings? Then he is not God.

God destroying Satan would be akin to cutting off one of his hands.

You don't destroy your older child if it hits your younger child with a fist. You just scold it or hit its bum (equivalent of God casting Satan out of Heaven).

If we follow the parable of God the creator and Satan the created then Satan can be viewed as a being which still has a lot to learn about what it means to exist and develop into something greater than his current state of being. The difference in experience between a 40 year old father and 14 year old son is enormous. Imagine the difference between beings that are very old (for whatever reason).

You also don't banish them to another dimension, or condemn them for eternity. Destruction is beginning to look like the more loving option, if these are the choices...

Did you know that Satan simply vanishes the moment you stop assuming that God is good???

Indeed. And I was just thinking about how the love of God is a very obsessive, possessive, objectifying love.

It's "I love you so much that I'm not going to change you - I'm just going to lock you onto this planet until you die, and then I'll lock you somewhere else forever depending on how much you love me back."

    Or if God were Galadriel:
"In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!"

There's much truth in that interpretation.

God's trying to work the evil out of humanity, so outright destroying all evil would likely destroy many of us, myself included.

Creation itself is a state of dual energies. For every state of energy, there seems to be an opposite. It's like Matter and Antimatter which both exist... or the positive and negative poles of a magnet... or how quarks appear in left-handed or right-handed states.

The creative moment of the universe, I am guessing, is when God split the forces apart from each other. Before the universe was made, those forces existed in complete negation of each other in total balance. The creative moment separated the forces, so from a human perspective we see opposites. Yet in the end, the forces will negate each other and return to the eternal state (this universe ends).

The tricky business is that these dualities, both positive and negative are really just illusions. At its source, there is only God because God is one with everything. God is the creative force, of both positive and negative (not evil negative, but like polar negative).

Yet this creation has created the potential for another duality, that of the spiritual duality. When we buy-into the worldly illusions by desiring things, instead of appreciating them as gifts from God, we turn away from God toward Satan.

    4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

    4:10
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
When someone realizes God as Jesus had done, worldly things aren't worth much. We can only truly be stewards of what God gives us.

I believe God played a key role in man's evolution, and he likely began us on the proper course where we were at one with him. Yet the worldly forces of this illusional reality tempted us from that higher state of God realization.

Satan is destroyed when all temptation is overcome throughout the universe, and all the spiritual energies unite under God.

I'm sure the Earth has a specific plan as well. If that includes an "end of days" I have no idea. I'm not too worried about it though since we can reincarnate elsewhere...

    Look at all the possibilities!!!

A few galaxies, many our size. Every star we see in our sky is just the tiniest of portions of total stars in our universe.

This is the "Galactic Web". Every glowing spot is a cluster of galaxies, maybe hundreds.

Civilizations are born and fizzle out. Populations reincarnate on new planets, like Earth. We learn different lessons on different planets. We attend different heavens according to our spiritual frequencies. Our past lives are perhaps too numerous to count. Isn't it amazing?

We're still all made in God's image though. We are eternal just as God is eternal. We are not bound by bodily form but spiritual existence, the true essence of God.

PS - A spirit is looking over my shoulder as I write this (helping maybe), I hope they approve! :)
