Would you want to know the details of your own death?

A red, green and a blue envelope is presented to you along with an accompanying letter.

    You read the letter and discover that it contains an explaination of each of the envelopes;

The red envelope contains the way in which you die.

The green envelope contains the date in which you die.

The blue envelope contains your very last coherent thought.

There is also a footnote stating that each prophecy given is 100% self-fufulling; knowing how you die is entirely futile in trying to prevent it.

You have a choice: You can either read the notes now or destroy them. You do not have to read or destroy all of them, for example, you could choose to read the red and blue envelope and destroy the green. You cannot however, take the letters away with you.

Which envelopes, if any, would you open and why?

    Yes.

    I like deadlines.

The red and green I would read because it would be nice to know how and when I'm going out. But I'd destroy the blue one because I don't want to know my last thought ahead of time, I'd rather experience it when the time comes.

I would open just the green and the blue envelopes. Knowing when I die and what my last thought would be are things I can handle. But if I die brutally, I'd rather not know about that ahead of time. It would be too stressful.

None of them. My gut reaction says that knowing my fate would somehow undermine it. I think I would be missing an essential part of the human experience if I knew.

I'd read the date. I'm sure the other two will fall into place, and if they're happy, that's fine, but if they weren't I'd end up dreading it too much.

I would read the blue letter only. I may be able to determine something from my final thoughts.

I think I would also read the blue letter. It would probably give me insight to what happens when I die. Deciphering my last thoughts would be interesting, even if those last thoughts are trivial.

I would not open the green and blue letters. Depending on how I die, I like the element of surprise and mystery. I would like to find that out for myself. knowing how and when I will die would be a hindrance to my life.

I whould read all of them.

Then I whould experiment, so I whould probably go in some big bunker or something and see what happens if I try to avoid death.
I whould also take EEG all the time during this to see if there can be any relation to what my last thought whould be and if I actually think it.
