    EDIT:

More specifically, how did you come to the conclusion that functions are equal, from your premises that there are some things that one can do that the other cannot? Do you have real life evidence that prove the equality?

Besides, real life is inherently biased in that the environment in any given period may favor certain functions over others. For example, in this era of technology and advancements, the Intuitive functions are more valuable than Sensing functions, because Intuition drives more advancements than Sensing.

On the other hand, a few centuries ago the Sensing functions may have more value because tradition and stability are more valued and useful then.

None is inherently more useful, since there's no pre-determinant for their use - however, I think Te is more useful when it comes to working with a broad range of technical translations (e.g. translating something from science to applicable elsewhere, etc.), while Ti is pretty much stuck in its own mode of operation based on how the individual likes to think and define, so the individual is better off just focusing on keeping with what interests them in terms of thinking, rather than forcing themselves to think in different ways. Both types of thinking can be relevant to any given situation though. Ti types are not the types who are good at retracing their logic, while Te types are.

    @Larxene

Like JungyesMBTIno said; I meant that all the functions are inherently equal. It's just circumstances that favor some over the others. But I thank you very much for digging beneath the surface on the matter! You have said a lot of things I was hesitant to bringing up. I had a sneaking suspicion that some functions were more useful than others but what's surprising is the resistance and side-stepping that came up on this issue. But i'll stop here before I get into any trouble.

Te is good at organizing things, managing people and dealing with such tasks in the external world
I'm Ti-dom, and when given a Te-type project, it is difficult and stressful. I can appreciate the need for Te that way! :)

Both are just as useful if they effectively allow their respective users to achieve whatever they want to achieve.

Te is great at keeping order in the surroundings, but I find that my surroundings don't need to be in order for me to operate efficiently. Rather, I require orderly and logical thought sequences to operate efficiently.

So, to me, Ti is more useful. But in tandem they are great.

Question to all Ti and Te bearers: Are you methodical?

For example, when tackling a new project, you may create a step-by-step process and make sure everything is covered in the 'right' order. You may try to cover every possible feature of a project. You strive hard to define everything and to obtain all possible information before taking action. If you anticipate that you will encounter a similar project, you will document the steps for future use and seek to perfect the steps so that the process becomes the most effective you can imagine.

Even when presenting arguments, you spend more time editing the contents and order of the information rather than actually constructing the argument. In other words, you try to be systematic.

    Is this true for you?

I can't speak for Te users, but I have a hard time imagining that's true for strong Ti users. An XXTP is still a perceiver, and the P function is going to show itself in how the person goes about preparing.

I always hated outlines and activities that forced me to organize everything ahead of time. Usually I don't know exactly what I want to say until I start writing, and then I go with the flow. (That might just be me, I dunno.)

I could see a Ti user spending a long time on the editing process, but I expect it to be after the initial content is on the page. Then s/he would probably go back through everything and flesh it out.

"I always hated outlines and activities that forced me to organize everything ahead of time."

A friend of mine (Ti bearer) gets frustrated with outlines and organization too, but only when it comes to learning; my hypothesis is that when he is learning, his Ne is activated strongly and he prefers to be 'surprised' by the process rather than making everything known and well-planned.

However, when it comes to DOING things, he has the tendency to try and organize things and ensure everything will work before trying it out, which is ironic because with unfamiliar tasks, we don't always have the information we need to create a perfect plan.

"Usually I don't know exactly what I want to say until I start writing, and then I go with the flow."

Another friend of mine (also a Ti bearer XD) also doesn't know what to write before actually writing it. He is probably a Kineasthetic/Experiential learner. On the flip side, it could the preference for Perceiving that drives us to do this. This trait is probably even more pronounced with EXTPs, given that their Perceiving function is dominant.
