    The Hunger Games

Did you read the book series?

Are you excited to see who will be cast for the Movie?

What do you think about Gary Ross' promise to make the movie PG-13?

How do you think the movie release will do in 2013 against the established series releases like the Twilight last movie?

Who is your favorite character, and why?

Anything else you want to add?

Did you read the book series? I just finished the first book

Are you excited to see who will be cast for the Movie? Theirs a movie? It would make an excellent movie.

What do you think about Gary Ross' promise to make the movie PG-13? It needs to be a PG-13 movie. Its fairly violent.

How do you think the movie release will do in 2013 against the established series releases like the Twilight last movie? I imagine it more as a harry potter type movie series. And twilight and hunger games fans are in 2 different classes.

Who is your favorite character, and why? Fox Face and the guy who designed her dress. Foxface is just so plain annoying brilliant. And Cinnia( I think his name is) is just an overall likable guy.

Anything else you want to add? Now I'm really looking forward to this movie...I hope they don't ruin it.

A lot of people were speculating that because of the extreme amount of violence that the movie would have an "R" rating. When Lionsgate made Gary Ross the producer the first thing he did was promise that he would make it PG-13. He said that the book has such a large younger audience that it would be unthinkable to make a movie that they couldn't see.

It also helps that an entire English class (if I remember right 7th graders) wrote him letters saying what they would like to see in the movie. A lot of them pointing out that Implied Violence can be as impact-ful as shown violence.

I am really excited to see the finished product. Should be in 2013.

I am currently in the middle of Catching Fire. :) The first book was amazing, but I am withholding my opinion on the second book until I finish it, although I have enjoyed it thus far.

I don't particularly care that they're making a movie of it since I don't like most movies in general, especially if they are of books I love. I do like to see how they translate the book into a movie, but I often feel frustrated because the movie version doesn't have nearly as much depth to it as the book. That, and I simply prefer to imagine it in my own head rather than seeing it on a screen. I might rent it on DVD just to satisfy my curiosity about how they decided to butcher stuff, but it isn't anything I'm really excited about.

I think my favorite character thus far is Cinna. :D I love his insight and how he incorporates it into his very symbolic creative work.

Would it help if I added that Suzanne Collins wrote the screen adaptation? She is also working very closley with the director on casting.

I realize that this won't change your mind about seeing it. It is just very interesting how much interaction Lionsgate is allowing her to have.

Oh...in my case reading would be the wrong word! I devoured them! It's one of the best trilogies I've ever read.

Are you excited to see who will be cast for the Movie?
Uhm..actually yes. I hope they will cast some fresh faces instead of established actors. That's what the movie needs!

What do you think about Gary Ross' promise to make the movie PG-13?
I'm okay with it as long as they keep the dark undertone of the books

How do you think the movie release will do in 2013 against the established series releases like the Twilight last movie?

You can't compare Hunger Games to Twillight. The Hunger Games books are amazing and Twillight is ...well I'll keep my thoughts on that one to myself so Twillight-fans won't tear me in half.

Who is your favorite character, and why?
My favorites are Katniss, Johanna, Cinna, Rue and Prim (yeah i just couldn't narrow the list down to 4 or less)

Anything else you want to add?

I'm sad the trilogy is over...

I agree completely, and the twilight example was really just there 'cause I couldn't think of any other Book based movies that were being released around the same time.

Well, the author's involvement totally piques my interest to the point where I might actually consider watching it in the movie theater. :D I'm still a little nervous, but I think that most fans of the book are. THG could really make a spectacular movie if they do it right and yes, I am all for a PG-13 rating. ^.^

So they talked to one of the prospective actors who said that hey have read the script. He mentioned that it keeps its dark side, and is very powerful.

    2013 can't come soon enough.

They've hired Debra Zane to do casting.

    Debra Zane Casted for :
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn 1 and 2
    X-Men Origins: Wolverine
    Indiana Jones (the new one)
    Ocean's Eleven through Thirteen
    Jarhead
    War of the Worlds
    Galaxy Quest
    Patch Adams
    Pleasantville
    Men in Black
    And sooooo many more.

So I have an errie feeling that maybe Lionsgate is going to aim for a blockbuster on this one. I hope that they are not allowing all the press attention that they are receiving go to their heads...

They've announced a release date of March 23rd 2012. So much sooner then originally predicted.
