    Anger

So, instinctive types whose personalities supposedly revolve around anger. What makes you angry? Also, do you feel that anger really is a base driving force for your personality?

The only instances of real anger that I can remember relate to either being hit repeatedly on the head or liberal alcohol consumption. Also, perhaps, when other people go out of their way to deliberately cause me pain. But that's about it. My anger is almost impossible to invoke in normal circumstances and it never lasts long.

i made a post about my anger awhile ago titeld anger as well. I think my anger comes from the lack of an ideal in the world. Part of me is angry because the chaos and meaninglessness in the world.....yet sometimes i feel like ...there really isnt that much chaos or meaninglessness. It is only when i sense that there is a lack of meaning or organization that i become angry....and i fight to restore it. (I think)

Oh, sorry about that. Though this one is in a forum about an enneagram triad and specifically related to it, I suppose.

Sorry, I did not mean to imply that was a bad thing. I was only stating an intuition that came to mind.

I made this thread related to my question about my anger. Grim said it has something to do with me as Enneagram 1.

How Strong Are You When You Get Angry?

I feel like I don't deserve to be angry most of the time, and that the people I unleash it on don't deserve the treatment. I get angry at injustice (who doesn't?) but most of the time such feelings get unresolved. I feel like I can't fully articulate my desires, that they are just out of reach. I am getting better with it though but it is still uncomfortable.

Overall I most resemble a Nine and these seem like typical Nine thoughts. It is considered that Nines get angry just as much as any other types, it just takes a lot for them to actually act on that anger or recognise its presence. Nines are disassociated from their anger so often can remain unaware of it. It is effectively pushed into the subconscious because they see it as a threat to their peace of mind.

As for WickedQueen's thread; in a sense I consider myself at my weakest when I am angry, or at least when it takes over me. It indicates my needs and wants have gone unfulfilled.

Tell me about it. At one point it literally took me years to figure out I was angry at someone.

I feel angry a lot, but have trouble expressing it without first trying to turn it inward. It becomes self-destructive, like poison, and only what overflows becomes visible. All of my anger starts as panic and most ends as panic, as well. It happens when I feel helpless to change the things I care about most, usually moral concerns that have to do with people being treated cruelly or unfairly. I'm not sure how anger relates to my enneagram type.

If you're angry and you know it, clap your hands! *clap clap*

My patience is very small, which causes me to lose track of it very easily. Most of my anger stems from my lack of patience.

I used to allow my anger to boil over a lot. It was not uncommon for me to just pace around and seethe...imagining morbid torture and death upon my enemies. I punched a few holes in the wall and broke a few things even.

Eventually, something clicked and I've had very good control ever since. Overall, I feel better as a result of maintaining my calm.
