Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.Enjoy your achievements

  2. More joy in giving than recieving

    by , 06-08-2012 at 11:12 AM
My thanks recieved is exactly half my thanks given. That's nice to know since I'm always being told I'm selfish and not generous at all. I think I've learned very well in the last few years how to feel happy for other people, which actually led to a better satisfaction with myself. Yay!

  3. a little bit of nonsense goes a long way

'My shoe is off. My foot is cold. I have a bird I like to hold.' - Dr. Seuss
I like to recite this when I'm bored or irritated. The nonsense and irrelevance of this saying shifts my focus and calms me.
However, when I'm having a serious conversation any attempt to downplay or sidetrack the conversation by saying something unrelated or ridiculous really pisses me off.

I have officially reached the point where I'm so stressed that I actually don't worry about anything...can't decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
