Ever been met with hostility because you don't fit someone's idea of who you should be? I'mtalking about individuality -- appearance, interest-wise, what you identify (or dont) identify as.
So one may have a preconceived notion of how you should be based on their limited exposure to people who aren't what they're used to seeing or hearing about? Basically they judge according to what they've been socially conditioned to believe is true. Or they can't accept that their categorizations of people don't actually apply outside of their own minds?
I can't stand that. The world is a big place, and people are more complex and have more depth than what we initially think, or from our ideas of them or other people's ideas. I wish people would remember that and not say ignorant stupid shit in an effort to group people they never even tried to know beside their preconceived notions and/or do so in some effort to preserve their identity, in whatever realm it resides in.
Our appearances, our interests, our preferences are our own. And that is not so hard to get. And if you feel the need to try and deter people from expressing their individuality when it has nothing to do with you, and you feel the need to pick at people because you can't understand, that's a personal problem.
