I'm in need of a good emotional "venting" - so here goes. I live in Minot, North Dakota - a city that's currently being flooded. One-fourth of our population has been displaced and more is sure to follow. It's difficult to stay positive sometimes because I feel...well...tired. I'm exhausted actually. I don't so much mean this in a physical sense anymore because my household goods have been moved and everyone is safe, but I mean this in an emotional way. I'm spent. When I connect with the pain everyone (not just myself) will feel when the waters receed...I'm overwhelmed by the sorrow of it all. It's so hard to imagine what homes, neighborhoods, businesses...everything...will be like.

Good things have come out of this event. The city, much like a family really, as come together over a fight we all share. We will never give up, we will move forward. For now however, we know control over the water is not man's to have...it is what it will be.

I've never experienced such a personal tragedy before in terms of a natural disaster. I can only pray and hope my home and many others will make it through these high waters. And FEMA, this town needs FEMA as many of us do not have flood insurance.

To finish this blog up. If anyone wishes to help or can find it within your own budgets to help, the Red Cross needs donations. www.minotredcross.org This will help sustain those who are without a place to call home. I'm fortunate enough to be staying with someone I consider family but many other people have not been afforded such a luxury. Please help if you can.

I'm so sorry you and your city has experienced such a difficult disaster. I'm glad you and your loved ones are safe. I will be praying for you and yours. It is normal to be worn out and hurting after such a loss and tragedy. Times like this I guess it is best not to increase anxiety of looking too far ahead, but just take it one hour at a time, then one day at a time. (((Hugs))) to Minot, ND!!

    Thank you @lullabyblossom

One day at a time is all we can do at the moment. I look forward to helping those less fortunate than myself.
