The Idealist
Stardust captured upon heaven’s leaves,
Makes morning’s moon shimmer in peace.
A broken question ripples my soul,
Moving me miles away from average dreams.
Casting a shadow across my face,
You’re the eclipse from fluorescent beams.
Breaking apart my petals of gold,
Who used to whisper, dance softly in the rain.
Kissed by pain, we flood with memories,
My dear sweet atmosphere, singed at the seams.
And a new day breathes light drenched with dew,
But as warm as morning sings, the cold remains in you.
The light at the ends will be bonded forever and a day,
But the depth of darkness will lead you astray.
Where can you go when there’s no place to call home?
There’s a place in my heart for you to call your own.
I see the smartest and strongest who have ever lived,
I see all this potential, and I see fatuity.
We are the middle of history now, naïve to our purpose, our place to belong.
We have no great war, no great depression,
Our great war is spiritual and great depression, our weakness.
The grace and perfection of children’s’ hearts,
Captured in our scented vibes.
With all pain scapegoated unto us,
We will take each breath one step at a time.
Cherishers of the journey itself,
Knowers of right from wrong.
When the storm reaches the horizon,
Lone prayers for sustainment dance into the abyss.
Gentle tears flow down from clouds,
Dispersing upon the petals of a rose.
This storm as sharp as her thorn,
Yet the birds will sing when the last cloud is formed.
Once morning breaks,
The sunlight will take away the pain.
When given a choice,
Take the sun from the rain.
It’s not for us to judge right and wrong,
Not our place, only find what will belong.
I slip in between you and the real world,
But to me you are the only world.
With a gaze which sparkles onto our sights,
We’ll then have knowledge of wrong and right.
Colors of the world will drift to shadows of night,
But happiness will come when we look with light.
When choosing to see, you’ll fail to see,
When standing in the dark.
But light will raise,
As all will shine throughout our days.
As years are gone, the present is a ripple to the past,
Just as an ocean, all will be vast.
The waves shatter upon each rock,
But we’ll gently shine as the stars remain blocked.
Weathered and gone, their imprint remains,
No burden to mind, not one to be vain.
Stripped of our ways, caught deep in minds,
Beauty remains for us to find.
Prejudiced, we stand, with trembling to hold,
We are broken hearts of gold.
