It is the most disturbing, scratch that, perplexing thing, to consider that people, as a whole, are not living for themselves, but for a system; when you truly consider that the system (which was created by humans) is designed to conquer humans and their ‘nature’. If we need such governance, than why can we trust the system that came from us, the corrupt?
