  1. Procrastination: Ain't it Wonderful? Part II

    Near relief!

He scored a 500 on verbal and 670 on math. He didn't study this week or most of last week, save for two practice tests he took a few hours before exam time.

(Also, thank god the field he is going into ignores verbal scores.)

I am proud of him. He is only 30 points away from being in the 700s. We just got off the phone and he already knew about my plan to crack a whip on his study habits (if only for a month!).

    (Hey, who says ...

  2. Clubbing...

I don't club. I'm not a clubber. I do enjoy dancing, but not at clubs. Rather, I enjoy dancing in my car or in my room while listening to music. Clubs? No thanks....

Tonight I had to run to Forever 21 really quickly to buy several pairs of leggings. They are my new obsession, especially Jeggings! Jeggings are Leggings made to look like Jeans. They're extremely comfortable and so much warmer than jeans in the winter!

As I was walking down this popular shopping district, ...

  3. An Inventory of Personality and Identity

by , 10-07-2010 at 09:33 PM (...and then my id told my superego to shove it)
I had an idea that I should probably start regularly cataloging where I am in personality/identity on regular scales so that I may keep track of change over time. So here goes.

    MBTI
Estimated core personality and current bearing
    [] = core personality range
X = current bearing on scale

    (I)-[1-2-3-X-5|6-7]-8-9-10-(E)
    (N)-[1-2-3-X]-5|6-7-8-9-10-(S)
    (F)-1-[2-3-4-X|6-7]-8-9-10-(T)
    (P)-1-2-[X-4-5|6-7-8]-9-10-(J)

  4. Procrastination: Ain't it Wonderful? Part I

My boyfriend is taking the GRE right now.

I am hoping he will score between 700-800 on the math section. He scored in the 500s in verbal and in the 300s in math on a practice test last week, The irony is that he is majoring in math. I've tagged along with him to his math classes (like vector calculus and a graduate dynamical systems course) and he does well in them, but when it comes to tackling that simple algebra and geometry and working with time limits...

    He signed ...

  5. Staying in the present moment

    by , 10-07-2010 at 06:32 PM
I think I've stumbled on a wonderful way to help me keep my head out of the clouds - even if it's just for a few songs.

I've been pretty sick the past few days - sore throat, headache, tired body, the works. Tonight, I took a swig of Robitussen and settled into bed with a pillow on my tummy and my iPod plugged into my ears, and I played from my "Home" playlist (songs that remind me of home, and feel like that safe place).

I let go and just started drumming ...
